How are you securing the floor to the side of the stringers? If your replacing all that wood, I'd replace it ahead of the dash as well. You will have templates from the old ones. Might as well have it all new a that point.

Hello, I am not sure 30 degress is enough? I think when you have a joint like that the taper should be a 8 to 1 ratio. west systems has good info on there web site. What kind ok resin are you using? I just installed new floors in by boat and after doing some reserach i found taht is worth the extar money for a epoxy resin like west systems.

Im going to set the ply in then the stringers and glass over the stringer with layers of mat 2 inches down each side. then ill sand the tapered edge and then lay cloth between the 2 stringers to the edge of the stringers.

I hope thats the proper way of doing it. No body up here have a clue (whats a flat bottom lol)

I was wondering the same thing if I should go the extra foot or so and replace all the plywood under the deck. Its soo tight up there and I dont want to cut the top off where the rub rail would be. I hope its strong enough with the extra join at the kick board. its just going to be a lake rod not racing it.

I had a 19 ft Schiada SS and ran it hard forever, the only thing that happened was the bulkhead came loose. I ran after and lost mph must have lost the twist, and Len wanted to build me another. So check yours and give it a look, a wonderfull boat they were one of kind, a treasure when done. good luck

Be sure to support the bottom so it doesn't sag and give you toooooo much rocker. I used steel angle bolted to the bottom to control the bottom shape You may have to install a 2X4 or 4X4 using the fin bolt holes to retain the veeee. Place blocks at the chines. I overlayed the floors on a Lavey Craft with Balsa Core. I am now ready to install the new stringers, (4), in a 17' 1962 Sanger.

did some more work on the schiada today. Got my new stringers plained down to an inch and cut them to fit. I used the old one as a template and they fit awesome. I just have to router the top edges make a jig and glass those babys in.

Im also thinking of investing in some expoy resin for the floors. Im just using the polyester for everything covered with primer and paint.
