Does anyone use, or is there such a product, that you attach to your flusher to clean and maybe coat the water channels of your outboard?
Like Salt-Away but for freshwater? Does that make sense? This last weekend might have been out last trip so I was thinking about running the engines on the hose and flushing them of dirty lake water.

salt away works on minerals.... salt is just one mineral ....conversion happens in fresh water too, especially with elevated temperatures.
it works best if you pickle the system and leave it in so it can break down the particulates that adhere to the small areas in the system.

I had my guy use it on my 12v92 Detroits heat exchangers and noticed an improvement preventing disassembly and boiling them...( this sits in salt water)

I pickle my stuff at the river at the end of every season with salt away.

there are some guys that make there own juice with diluted acid its a natural diluent but it can etch some coatings installed by the manufactures I like the salt away I'm told its safer
