I had this happen to me. Left some food in the inside garbage can for a while. Baby flies every where.

You haven't been poisoning or trapping mice in your home have you ?
You're telling me there's a dead rat in my house too? Because we never leave food out. That would suck. I don't smell anything yet thankfully. I only have some old rat poison in the garage and outside that's been there for over a year so likely useless

Do you have pets?
We had a towel under our pets water dish. It was always damp.
One time some dry dog food festered under the damp towel and I kid you not, one fly must have laid larvae that spawned a shit ton of flies inside the house.
It was fucking nasty. Dead flies every where. 😡

We use the raid flying insect spray. Spray around the outer door frames every week or two and it keeps the flys from coming in when you open the door. Our pest guy recommended it and it works pretty well.

Was just suggesting that if you'd been trying to rid the place of a rodent, you might have been successful and he's the source. Like in your attic as an example.
I offered that based on one particularly disgusting experience using poison many years ago. 😖

We use these and we have horses so 10-15 out by barn all the time Do not let them go dry and don’t put in trash can until trash day 😳😎 if you hate someone toss 1 on there porch 😎😂
Haha. They do work, but I don't think the stink /smell is worth it after a while. It gets friggen nasty.

These are flies that live a few days, but manage to lay a lot of eggs. That's probably the problem. You need to call a pest control specialist to destroy both the flies and their eggs.

We've been having this for about a month + now.
Vacuum out your window seals and pour (I used a little baster type deal) a little bleach in the runners.

I am expecting to have a smell and fly issue in a few days.....

The house got tented yesterday, living in the courtyard in the RV. I know I have a few mice and potentially rats in the house. The ground squirrels are going to be a real bonus also. The up side is that once it is all cleaned up, I have tightened up the house so I should be able to keep them out. It might be a long road between now and then......

Get a couple of the old school fly tapes and hang them in the problem areas. This is not a permanent thing, just for a week or so. You will decrease the population fairly quickly and get the situation under control. Also don't let the pets near them. They sometimes want to mess with them and "mess" suddenly becomes the operative word. Don't ask how I know, but normal soap doesn't remove the sticky well from cat fur.

For us this year in Havasu it seems like moths are everywhere, dont ever recall them getting in the house and being everywhere outside.

Those nasty ass things just attract more flies.

I use the jar version...hang it on the telephone pole about 50' from the house.. problem solved. Gotta swap it monthly..ours fills fast. We've got a lot of deer that bed down by the house...deer+deershit=flies. As long as they are up..we have no issues.

I had to use those in my back yard last year. They smell so gross when it's time to toss them. I haven't had them as bad this year, my electric tennis racket was a great buy for $10.

I can't figure out the mosquitos! I get very tiny misquotes in my garage only that come out every time I go out there. I've tried spray, repellant and fogging with zero success. I cant figure out where exactly there are or where they come from. Drives me nuts and they bite like no other!

Flies, Mice, Rats, Gophers.... What do you do in your home that all kinds of pests come to live there?

The flies, mosquitos and moths have been crazy this year. It was humid a couple weeks ago and flies were everywhere. The drier it gets, the less flies we have. I’ve never seen bugs like this in Parker.

Its easy, I live in an older home in a rural area that's not the desert. Stuff lives around here, if you have any openings in your home, it will move in. Then its very hard to get to move out again. I have closed off most of the "alternative entrances" and will be closing off the remaining this weekend.

Bug-assalts rock Got a couple , Grand kids shoot "skeet" (moths etc) on the back deck at nite .... also great for spiders that are slightly out of reach... before I got them we would use a pellet gun (no pellet) the air blast alone is "lights out for bugs"

I've been through this, at my old house. Seemingly endless waves of flies inside. All it takes is for a few flies to somehow lay eggs and you have a mess on your hands with seemingly no end.

The only thing that got rid of the problem 100% for me was getting an electric fly zapper off Amazon, and leaving that sucker on 24/7 for a week. During the day, i'd place it in front of a bright window and close the other windows. It would draw the flies to that bright window and eventually they'd enter the zapper. At night - the zapper is naturally the brightest thing in the house and they gravitate towards it and meet their death. After a week or so - 100% flyless.

Here's the one that saved the day

Exactly! I have the camo one and I modified it so the safety doesn't come on after each shot. It's the little things in life! 😁

We had that issue a month ago. I think something died I killed over 50 flies one day.

All hanging out behind the blinds by the front window.

They never really flew around the house. Just lethargic.

We had, or maybe still do, a biting small fly or gnat problem. Took a couple months to figure out they are a by product of crickets my daughter buys to feed her zero personality, hissing, $75 a month electricity bill adding, chameleon.

I was being bit at least 10x a day and am allergic to the bites so we made her hang fly paper rolls in her room. Put a small bug zapper in the living room and were just barely under control.

I Love my daughter and she's an awesome, hard working college student but that lizard will hit my smoker, sorry... belongs elsewhere.

No flys/pest in the house but I did take care of those pesky one out on the patio with a 1/4 acre distance.
There have been some.pretty good size creatures get their death sentence in that thing. Reminds me of the movie Longest Mile.
You can actually see the electricity going through them then a big pop and a rather large smoke trail.
This all takes about 15-20 seconds and I have failed to yet record a session of this sacrifice.

We have 2 of those and we're now wondering if they may be exasperating the problem.

Also, as far as sprays are concerned Raid is useless.
Bug sprays in general that are specific to flys are useless.
The multi insect sprays are more effective.

Our Dog catches flys.
Sound like when you slam the trunk of your car when she closes her mouth & catches them.
