After a flight and connecting flight I picked up a 2003 F250 7.3 Crew Cab 4X4 w/full leather S/B stock and untouched with 118k miles for 25k today.

Ya I know...but anyone who knows...knows.
I sold the same(except cloth and more miles) truck almost 2 years ago and regret it all the time. Congrats!

Wow, that’s clean. Were the seats reupholstered? Never seen black leather in that era. Buddy of mine has a Regular Cab 7.3, I’d love to pick it up for a first truck when my son turns 16.

I have an 03 7.3 Extended cab XLT that I’m going to sell soon. It’s at 160K, adult owned entire life, very few towing miles, well maintained, etc. etc. I had no clue these were selling for this kind of money!

I guess if you arent going to drink the Cummins coolaid powerjoke is the next best thing!!

Congrats
I’ve had em all…this is my first 7.3 but I have to say i love the 5.9 12 valve…I’ve had the pleasure of owning 3 of them. Not a big Ford guy but know good mechanics when I see it. This little beauty I picked up today will be hauling my Hallett 270 for many years after I retrofit her with all the modern updates. No CAT no DEF is a good start and the tuning/programming has endless possibilities.

I would love to find one with around 100k miles on it. I had one of the older 7.3's. Loved that truck.
That would be an incredible find…my brother owned a couple of those first gens and swears by em. The amount of options we have now for these older trucks is damn near endless!

Nice! They are definitely getting real hard to find like this. Light that wick and you might as well build a transmission now….lol

I loved my 7.3 but i don’t miss it.

Great Find!! I’ve had my 2001 7.3L F350 for 21 years now and it has been almost flawless for 330K miles. I’ve seen these go over 1 Million miles so yours with 119K miles is barely broken in, lol.

Start saving for an F450 transmission and cooler. My F350 tranny started spinning belts at around 145K miles. Besides that the only other thing to go wrong was the steel fuel line that runs between the engine block & firewall got a hole in it after vibrating for 15 years.

Only thing I would do to it is change the stock air box to an aFe setup and call it good. It’s a diesel truck, not a dragster.

If you see oil on the ground between the engine and transmission its 100% likely that it needs a HPOP. I have had several 7.3's and the high pressure oil pump leaked on all of them. Its in the valley at the front of the engine and when they leak, it looks like a rear main seal issue.

Oh, and I don't miss mine either.. I have since moved on to the Cummins. A manual, 6.7 CP4 truck is the next unicorn.

There's a plug that starts leaking, too, same result. Easy $23 fix.
Mine has 200k ± on the repair plug. It's not always the hpop.

Untrue. There’s a ton of things that can leak in the valley. Turbo seals, pedestal seals, cracked oil lines, oil line seals, fuel filter seals. That’s just off the top of my head.

Black leather came in the sport package as an option. Black cloth was standard on the sport package. Different door panels as well.
I've got 2. F350 with 464K miles and F250 with 278K miles. F350 is on the 3rd transmission. F250 still on the original 2wd transmission but is getting rebuilt next month into a 4wd transmission to finalize the 3 year long 4wd conversion.

FWIW my dad sold a 2002 F450 XLT 7.3 regular cab 12' Flatbed 2wd Aluminum wheels with 130K miles for $18k last year. He also sold a 2000 F350 XLT 7.3 CC/LB with 400K miles and needed a good cleaning and going over for $9K. I was surprised someone would pay $9K for a truck with 400K miles.

Any decently clean diesel these days with under 200k is a 20k truck its crazy but when the new ones are 100k i guess thats what happens. I have an 01 7.3 i bought to flip 6 months ago with 190 on it but now after driving it for a while im probably just keeping it. Nice to have a do anything truck that you just change the oil and add fuel.

I am thinking about selling my unicorn. 2012 Duramax Denali with only 15k miles. I only drive it probalby once a year when I pull my enclosed trailer. I usually use the motorhome to pull the trailer so the diesel truck just sits in storage months at a time. Let me know if you there is anybody interested in a low mile Duramax. Truck has been deleted with 5in exhaust and has an H&S tuner. Sorry for the bad pics. It was clean when I put it away 9 months ago now its covered in dust. Truck is in Utah . No low ballers please. LOL.

Wow, now that is a low mileage example for sure! Honestly, I would put that up on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, make some serious coin quickly. Bunch of cheap fucks in here that want a deal 😂

Not always . Mine was leaking like that but was the hose fittings on the HPOP and the heads . Company called Dieselorings.com has all the parts for the 7.3 . And almost all parts are factory at way cheaper prices .

I'm going to say this is 100% bad info.

Mine turned out to be the fuel filter drain petcock. If it ever leaks again, I'll replace it with a freaking pipe plug. I've never used that thing once! 😂

99-04 Superduty frames are modular and the front sections are all the same, 99-04, F250-F550. They are 2 pieces frames welded right under the firewall. A 4 wheel drive suspension from the same era will both into place when the 2wd suspension is removed and vise versa. I did not have to drill any new holes or do any custom work. Everything bolted in like factory. 02-04 trucks have a crash bar with leaf spring hangers built in so I already had front leaf spring mounts on my 2wd from the factory. 99-01 trucks don't have the crash bar and will require front leaf spring mounts to be installed. Items that are important is the double speed nut for the track bar bracket, 4wd pitman arm, and 4wd brake lines.
As far as transmission goes I'm still working on that. I have a 4wd core 4R100 and a 271 transfercase. I have the 4wd trans mount and drive shaft and hope that's all I need. I'm not going to bother with the wiring on the manual t case as all it would do is illuminated a 4wd light on the dash. A 273 t case will be more wiring involved and need vacuum lines and solenoid and switch to work.
Rear was simple. 2" blocks, longer u bolts, and a 4wd brake line from frame to axle.

My 02 7.3 with 150k miles still looks like it came off the showroom floor. It went to Banks for their Powerpack at 2 weeks old and has been perfect ever since. I gotta say, everyone says the 4R100 is the weak link, mine has had the Banks Transcommand on it since new, and the fluid has never changed color from bright pink. I change it every so often and it always comes out looking brand new 🤷🏼‍♂️ Say what you want about Banks being expensive or whatever, shit works though.
