Semicustomizible. built to order. they typically take 2-3 months but will sometimes offer an expedite if you ask.

Drop in a Chevy big block dumped four 460 in my jet went to Chevy no more problems
He is a Ford guy, it can be made to run correctly. To my knowledge none of the Ford engines I have built have failed, including a 545 cu in Ford in a jet boat.

I'd find a new engine builder . My 12:1 514(460 Stroked) ran flawlessly for 10yrs . It would turn 7000rpm all day and chew chevys up . Ran it so hard and long finaly wore the cam out . Crower solid roller .

You can make a Ford run well with good parts and a stroker assembly. It just costs twice as much to build.

I love it when people drop their own personal opinions that are completely irrelevant to what the original post is asking about. Especially the ones that can't spell, it really makes people want to take their advice. As the saying goes, if you don't have anything intelligent to add, shut the hell up. Fords run just as strong as any other American manufacturer if you treat them right or apparently in your case, putting them together right. My brother ran a 460 with virtually all stock parts in his '74 Nordic squirt and when I say he ran it, he ran it hard. Never once did he have a problem with that engine, and it ran flawlessly when he sold it. I personally own quite a few Fords only because the one I was raised in never let my Father down or his family on the side of the road pulling a boat that just about outweighed it. By the way, I now own that truck and guess what, it still drives the way it did in '72.

Its tough to get parts for Fords and there's like 10 part numbers for 1 item and then it's a guessing game at that point. Chevy's are badass. Just show up to the water with a boat minus engine and swap your truck engine in for the day. When the day is over just swap it back into the truck.
