Found a diamond in the desert.

So I picked up a 79 21 Daytona last week on Craigslist. Couldn’t pass it up. Been going through it all weekend. Pulled the motor apart to see what it had. It wasn’t in when I picked it and not run for 5-6 yeas. The hull had been sitting in the sun uncovers the whole time as well. So I got it home cleaned it out and polished up to see what I have. I’m happy with what I have so far. Should be a fun project for me. Not yet. Was gonna have that done.
After polishing it I could see some old lettering that said motor built by Bob Sebring and installed by GS Marine.

Bob Sebring used to own Service Center, a speed shop here in Torrance. I used to buy a lot of parts there back in the late '90s. They moved over to Lomita on Narbonne somewhere around 2006 or 7, but the place is empty now...not sure if Bob is still around or not. He built some serious stuff.

I’ve been using this product for about 4 years now. Used a variable speed polisher with heavy cut compound and the orange pad. Then used the final cut polish with the white pad. Couple of beers later this is what I ended up with.
