Thought we'd avoid the Memorial weekend crowds & sneak in a session.
Split the house around 4:15 am . . .Pops is funny, as we're rollin up PCH towards Seal Beach, he says, "Wasn't there a place we stopped once and got a Ham & Cheese croissant"? . . . . people are right, old people can be exactly like little kids !
I almost barked-back in my typical grouchy morning self . . . then caught myself & thought, 'Memorial Day' . . . so I say 'Yep, it's right up here'.
Spin a U-Turn on PCH . . . double park in a fire lane etc in front of Donut City . . . Pops goes in, I see him chatting with some dude, then he comes out all smiling & happy.
He said, "That guy inside insisted he pay for my Ham & Cheese" !!! . . . . Rad !
We launched and made our way around, fishing the 3 sections of the breakwater out in front of the LB / LA area.
The calico bass fishing was really good till the tide peaked . . . we quit counting at 37 and 1 Cabazon.
Mostly all small models, but super fun on light line.
We kept 3 chunkers for tacos.
Gloomy day, sun didn't poke out till we got back in the harbor.
Always fun fishing with Pops.
Oh, and by chance if the dude who bought Pops the croissant see's this . . . Cheers & Thank You , it made his day !
