Damn! Didn't even realize he was ill........

He may not have been?

A guy passed in his sleep hiking in Yosemite one year.

Me: how awesome

Most people: you're an asshole!

Me:. Checking out in your sleep in a place you love is WAY better than checking out in a hospital with a shit ton of hoses hooked up to you.

ZZ Top Rules. 👍👍

I want to go like my Grandfather did, in his sleep. Not screaming, like the guy riding in the passenger seat. Reality sets in when all the rock gods are dying of old age. RIP

Yes he had returned to Huston due to some hip complications.
From TMZ

Unclear if Dusty's death is in any way related to another health scare he recently suffered -- namely, a hip injury that the band said he had to address in the past week or so, forcing him to bow out of a string of shows across the U.S. with his bandmates.

ZZT addressed the setback on Facebook not too long ago, writing ... "The members of ZZ Top, Billy, and Frank, would like to share that Dusty, their fearless Bass player, is on a short detour back to Texas, to address a hip issue. They await a speedy recovery and have him back pronto." They replaced Dusty with Elwood Francis ... who's been playing in his stead.

I hope not. They hold the record for the longest band with original members. Wouldn't be the same without Dusty.
Although I've been a fan for almost 50 years, I didn't get into them until their 2nd album, Rio Grande Mud which I think was released in 72? I remember I was16 and driving when it came out.

What a bummer.

On another note, if it hasn't been mentioned before there's a great documentary on Netflix about the band.

Ya....I watched that Netflix doc....it was pretty good.

They were already on tour without him so I assume they will continue.
