Everyone has a sick lifted truck! with sick wheels and tires. But no one has a match spare under the truck usually just the stock one is under. What do you guys have?
both mine do since they are 4x
18 Silverado with 33s has a 33 under
12 Sierra has a match rim and tire under (285)

do you guys have a matching spare? Or matching size?

What you guys doing to protect the tire from getting that wear mark from the bars on the tire carrier? I cut a piece of carpet and put it between the spare and the mount.
Here’s an example of the mark on the tire I’m talking about.

I have 2003 3500 dually and got tires yesterday, put the best one as a spare. When the tire store took it off it was older then the tech who did the work, original 2002 tire.

Good luck. Fitting a 35+ under these trucks is possible, but is a PITA.

I kept my old 35 Toyo Rts, bought some oem black 20s ram wheels from a member here and have 3 spares, I gave one away to my FIL. Haven't got around to mounting it under the truck, so it sits in the bed for now.

i think the cut off is 35s? To go in the one under the bed.
Just figured I would ask since I see a lot of people with stock tire and 37s on the truck haha

Not sure on the GM trucks. On the Rams, some guys are fitting the smaller 37s deflated with removal of heat shields and a lot of massaging/ forcing them into place. On my 2500, I couldn’t fit a 325/65R18 inflated- it hit the trackbar. I haven’t tried squeezing it under the 3500 yet. On the Ford side, Carli is supposed to be releasing a cradle to fit a 37- but it’s going to be $2k+ from what I’ve heard.

Most guys are mounting them in the bed.

Carli was working on a hitch/spare setup for Fords, allows a 38” spare.

Not sure where they’re at with it…

2005 Chevy 2500 with 5 matching MT wheels and toyos
2016 Jeep with 5 matching MT wheels and toyos
2019 RAM with 5 matching XD wheels and toyos

if you are not buying 5 wheels and tires you are not doing it right and loosing money.
You do 5 tire rotation and actually use the spare tire. It does not age out this way and the tread matches the wear of the other 4 tires. That way if you destroy a tire mid tire wear you don’t have to replace a pair of tires and then be in some weird way with two different pairs of tires at different mileages.

My pickup has always had a full size spare but on a steel rim. Not too long ago I got ahold of a matching rim and as soon as I'm done training in Irving I will schedule to have the tire replaced and start doing a 5 tire rotation.

Got a full size 35" Nitto on a matching Method Rim. I rock it in the back bed of the truck unless we are hauling something and need the extra room,

I guess I just wanted to see if you guys were prepared. So many nice trucks with stock tires still under. Always wondered why they leave the stock under if they have 35+ tires in the truck? What’s the point?
See it most on the sick dodges with the tow mirrors out with nothing being towed.
