I was kinda horny about getting a G43X, lots of fanboys just rave about them and singlestacker sounded good. To get one LEGALLY in ca will cost me a little over $1k
1632499465788.gif

On my way home yesterday, I stopped in gold pan dan’s looking for some 32ACP, the said they were out and I was the 4th person to come in for it today which is pretty freaking bizarre, I questioned them and they were sure I was the 4th one asking on Thursday SMFH. They were actually very nice and while I was still there, one of the girls found some at lucky gunner for $43/box. For that kind of money I’ll just get a set of dies.

Anyway they had a G43X in the display and it looked huge. Seemed bigger than my G32/23 just single stack thinner. Anyone EDC a 43X? How does it feel? I’m wondering if I actually even want one now.

I have a 43X and edc it everyday off duty . With proper quality holsters and a real gun belt it is very easy to carry- Its NOT a pocket pistol. As typical for a smaller pistol, it's a little snappy but not anything you wouldn't expect. I really like the 43X and how it shoots and carries. It's the smallest pistol that I would carry. I just would not carry a smaller pistol or a less potent caliber. It's only coming out when the SHTF and I want something that is close to my G19.

The 43X is a 10+1 pistol with stock mags. Don't get caught up with mag capacity and mag extensions. Carry a bigger pistol like the G19 if you really want more capacity over mag extensions. IMHO many of the mag extensions are unreliable and make your concealable pistol more difficult to conceal. If you must, Shield Arms does make very reliable 15 round flush fit mags for the 43X. It is really the best option for increasing capacity of the 43X.

I have the 43 and while I was shopping for it I saw and felt the 43x, I like the 43x better fits my hand really nicely, but my purpose for buying was a smaller pocket gun.

I also bought a sig 365 and it holds 15 with the extended mag and it’s the same size as a 43.

I’m not LE so the only time it will come out is when it would be worth losing my home defending myself in court.

Not worried about snappy I EDC a Kahr p380 and PM9, they are like pagers that go bang. Very comfortable. I know 380 is a bit small but if all goes well, I’ll never use it. And if it goes wrong, the .380 is 1000X better than my G19 that I left in my car because it’s more than I want to lug around. with a good hybrid holster, I can take that p380 skateboarding in swim trunks with a good drawstring and draw and present effectively.

That’s why I liked the G42

My wife bought herself a G43X for her carry. I really like it, I will be getting myself one for sure!

The height of the G43 and the G19 are the same, and height / grip length are usually what matters when trying to conceal a firearm. Width is only slightly larger on the G19 which is the second thing that matters but less so than grip length IMO. My primary carry is a G19 MOS and my secondary (when wearing shorts and a T-shirt usually) is a SIG P938. I am more comfortable with the 15+1 capacity and the size of the G19. I think I would rather carry the slightly larger G19 than the G43.

I love my 19 it’s probably my favorite overall handgun but it’s much bigger and prints a ton more than a 43.

They both have there place. 😎

IMO, thickness and weight is really the key to comfort, that and I never get used to the muzzle touching my junk while I’m driving. I actually prefer carrying my 2” commander over my G19

Weight is the only real big difference between the two unless you appendix carry and worry about slide length. If I am going to carry a small (relatively) capacity 9mm that is small it will be my Sig. It's less than an inch in width and the grip length is smaller than the G43 and it's 8+1. My.02.

G19 is definetly my next purchase. I love my m&p 9c in my tier1 agis holster. For the g19 ill go with the tier 1 axis elite as its slightly smaller. I think holster and belt have a lot to do with printing and concealing, and how you carry.

I carry a 42 and a 43x depending on attire.

43x is very snappy compared to my 26 or 19

I carry a regular 43 i prefer the compactness of the shorter grip easier to conceal.Grip is harder to hide vs a slightly longer barrel. All i di for my 43 was get a pinky extension but doesnt effect the rear part of the grip.

All my handguns are specific purpose i didnt buy the 43 to target shoot i bought for deep concealment and for me it does that well.As for capacity yes its only 6 and even if you have 10 and you get into a wild west shoot out 10 will go fast too and probably not enough anyways.

Quick size comparison top to bottom

top 1911 subcompact sitting on top of G19
G27
PM9 Kahr
P380 Kahr

And on the left is a LCP with a stupid laser my wife likes

image.jpg

G19 Vs 1911, I’ll wear the 1911 100 times before I wear the G19, it’s more comfortable and makes a bigger hole.

image.jpg

I qualified with the PM9 but never ended up submitting the paperwork for it, I’ll add it when I renew

P938 is my carry gun secondary to my G19. I also have a P238, but with how small the P938 is I would rather carry a 9mm than a .380.

I like the P365, but I would need to buy one in California since I would use it for CCW there. Since I am no longer an active LEO I have to comply with the asinine roster. If I find a lightly used one for sale someday I would jump on it. Until then, the P938 will have to back up the G19.

Would love to but I am currently completely fucked up from the COVID shot. I just got back from having an MRI of my brain a couple of hours ago. I had to reschedule Shock Therapy for December, but I am not sure if that is even going to happen unless I suddenly start feeling a lot better. I will keep you posted...

That really is the major game changer for the 43x

I’m generally not a fan of aftermarket mags, exceptions being Pmags in the AR10/15, the colt aluminum box mags are still the best and MEC-GAR who actually make the factory mags for Sig and many others, and obviously Chips have always run flawless in all my 1911’s. Wilsons for the subcompact 1911.

If I had a G43x, I’d add this to give it nearly the capacity of a G19…if you’re into modding your EDC

I must be in the minority, I absolutely love my 26. That or my 43 are my CC of choice. I have a 19 and 19c, but the 26 is my go to. Well, was, before that boating tragedy.

haha oh i'm with you, this isnt my first go-round.

Its amazing how easy it is to fuck something up as simple as a box magazine, yet companies STILL do it day in and day out. That being said, you should ALWAYS train and and train often, you'll find out pretty quickly if and when mags are junk.

These actually have a really good reputation so far, certainly worth giving a go.

I agree on aftermarket mags however, I have about 800 or so trouble free rounds through my S15 mags

although I love my 19x! FDE is so sexy in a sea of black guns!

I saw in a movie once they cut a shark open to see what it ate. Those things will eat anything!

i think I saw the same movie they pulled out a license plate. I think it was either on the National Geographic channel.

Or was it shark week on Discovery

I have owned every compact and sub compact Glock made. The carry the 43x MOS everyday and it’s by far my favorite.

I carry it appendix with a kydex holster. I also have been using the shield arms 15 rounds mags and the function flawlessly.
If you can get your hands on a 43x, I would highly recommend it.
