New to me boat has a chip just below the rub rail. It drives me crazy. Something I can do with a DIY kit or best left to a pro?

I have some chips in the bow as well as some on the port side strake that drive me INSANE!! I've looked up online DIY repair kits and they actually come out very well. The problem with yours is the yellow will take some work to match but I did see this. There's a lot of videos on Youtube with instructions.

grab a gelcoat repair kit... even if it werent a PERFECT match, it'll still be better than a dark eyesore. The worst part for you is you're going to need to open it up more and feather it out nice and clean so the gelcoat has something nice to stick to.

This is what you need. Its works damn good!
I had a few small bottom blemishes, I bought White and Im happy with the results.
Prep and finish is the key and I believe any Chimpanzee could do it to.

Comes with the catalyst and you wont need to add wax. Stand alone from start to finish repair and if you have time, you should be all smiles when you're done!

Yellow..should be close enough

You could always send that picture to Pedro ... the best gel coat guy in Havasu ... and find out what it would cost ... 928-486-4529. Good luck .

The repair is actually pretty simple to do. The hardest part is the color matching but yellow is pretty easy to mix. If your not sure how to do it I would just have a shop do it. That’s like a $100-$150 job right there to have done.
