Rumor is that some one bought it, pretty cool seeing the Arneson drive with 35" prop, she is going to need a lot of love

Would be awesome if she does get some

Such a shame. With the tag on a new boat that size a lot of work can be done to the old bird though.

Still looks pretty contemporary in above water design from what I can see sideways .... 70 mph in 115' yacht is something.... aren't you supposed to be drinking by now.... don't tell me that sexy Cig has you all behaving? Too busy fucking.... am I right?!

I am surprised it still has the Arenson. When they converted it to a yacht they removed the center gas turbine engine. There shouldn't be anything attached to that drive.

Damn! Maybe someone finally bought it. Or maybe owners are getting in good shape to actually sell it. I see a dumpster at the transom. They pitching some shit out!

I’ll have to swing by there and check the progress over the next month or so.

So, one prop & two jets. How's it work? Are the jets only operated to gain the high speed?

I doubt they'll share, but it would be interesting to know what it sold for and what it'll take to get it running again.

Wonder if he is going to try a different prop?

I did the same earlier. I saw nothing about the boat and he didn't seem like he was into boats. But I will keep an eye on it.

Actually the opposite. They would run the boat up on plane using the diesels/jets, then fire up the turbine and lower the Arneson into the water for higher speed from the gas turbine.

A full resto would be nice. I'd think this would be up Ron Pratt's alley.

Will be interesting to find out if they are towing it or piloting it.
We'll know in about 48 or so....

Does anyone know if it started its journey to the Long Beach area yesterday?

Hard to figure out? Why would they pay for a haul out just to put it back in? Why pay to truck it when you could tow it? I guess it will be on the hard in LB though. Maybe not even in a yard.
Maybe someone’s back yard? Hell ya.

probably for a survey to make sure the boat is still structurally sound prior to sale

So he posted on his instagram story about it. I messaged him to see whats going on, we will see if he writes back. Long beach isn't far from me so depending on what he says he is doing maybe he will be interested in doing some filming and documenting on it

I could only see a quick video of the boat and the caption "doing my best to save her"....

He needs to get that young Tiawan guy Ho in the You tube videos. He would clean it up and be good as new in no time at all.
Probably not far from the truth.

I can't imagine trying to find the people here to restore that. I would guess it would cost >6x what it cost to originally build to restore it.

Hopefully it happens, would be awesome to see.

I'll check back in ten years to see how it's coming along. .

He messaged me back. He said he is supposedly buying it and just trying to work out the logistics of everything today to get it to long beach. He said he needs a tug and a dock. I'll keep digging and see what i can find out. trying to see if he wants to do some film documenting if he buys it and plans on restoring it. Either way if he buys it and lets me i will go down there with a camera and get some film of the whole thing

Just went by. It’s still there. Gotta say, it’s a big sum bitch out of the water. You don’t get the depth of the size of it from pics. Fuckin bow is sticking out of the boat yard into the parking lot 😂😂

Like I said. It’s still there and it’s ROUGH.

Gotta say, doesn't sound too hopeful for a true restoration. Dude is like, "I'm buying this thing, now what?" No plan on tug no place to put it? Uhhhhh, yea.
