Im heading to glamis. I dont have paddles.
I do have the maxxis liberty tires that came on the RC version.
I cant find many reviews of these in the sand, im sure they are below average.
Should i just air down and drive in 4wd for 3 days?
Buy 2 paddles and leave the stock liberty on the front? This means 2wd unless in stuck.

I cant see spending 1500 for fronts and rears for 1 trip a year.
Im also fine sucking gas with the massive tire spin im sure will happen.

The group is mostly 4 seat non turbo rzr's with paddles. Im 2 seat can am turbo

Thoughts?

Paddles are much safer.

Just finished 2 days Glamis. No paddles, no issues. Way more spin than the Can Am with paddles but it wasn’t bad. I’m sure we’ll pick some up in the future. I wasn’t going to spend the money without coming here first.

8 to 10 lbs of air and try both 4wd and 2wd... I ran our 4 seater out there with Tensors...we went everywhere... Yes tire spin was nuts in 2wd...Felt like you were running on marbles... Used 4wd while duning and the darn thing actually tracked and did just fine...I argued with myself about this very same thing... save the money... enjoy the ride.

Borrow a set of stock Big horns from someone if possible. Won’t be a paddle, but will be better than the Liberty.

Keep it in 4wd.

The Liberty kicks ass in the desert though.

sounds like Im gonna air down and run it! I will stop at my local dealer and see what a set of 30" paddles on 'take off' Can Am bead locks cost. They have a stack of rims there. Maybe get a cheap pair of paddles and run liberty up front. Still gonna be $600 though.

Im happy with the liberty tire in havasu, great street use also

Got home about 2 today. Great trip! Cold Friday. No tire issues, 8psi and 4wd never got stuck or was unable to go anywhere. It does slide a lot. Which was actually fun, constant drift.
About 13 SxS, I was the only non paddle. If I went more than once a season I'd buy paddles. X3 is still impressing me.
1 broke RzR belt, one broke RzR axle, 1 broke RzR A-arm. No can am DNFs.
