This is my first post here and I am new to V drives so i am looking for good information. I am building a Glen L tornado. This is a 60s/70s style family ski boat. It will be made of all mahogany. The running gear is a Pontiac 400 and casale top loader box. My main question right now is prop shaft angle. The plans call for a 10-12 degree prop shaft. I have been told to go as shallow as i can. Right now that is 9 degrees. Is there any reason i should not go with 9 degrees? also to put the gear box in the ideal position i would need to lengthen the aft part of the hull behind the drivers seat 8-9 inches. Is there any reason i should not do that? That would make the overall length of the boat 19' 4". I have attached some of the design plans for the hull. Any input would be appreciated.
