Jeff Cheng actually marinized a set of 572 crate motors and put them in a Cigarette Gladiator. They were bad ass but I believe he was always chasing heat issues.

They messed with it for a long time and couldn't get it worked out. Jeff ended up pulling the motors I believe and putting 525's back in and then sold the boat. They sure were cool motors though and sounded wicked!

these have 69 camaro written all over them and I am a mustang guy

People dont understand that these HP numbers arent based on 100% duty cycle operation. They are automotive burst numbers. Hold that thing at WOT for 2 or 3 minutes on the dyno and it's a whole different animal than advertised.

That was exactly the problem with the 572's Jeff put in the gladiator. There were sustainability at higher RPM for longer duration issues as well
