It just the brick and mortar locations that are closing. Those 3 brands are not going away.

I'm headed to the volcom location in carlsbad later. I need some cold weather stuff at a major discount!!

They have been making the same exact stuff for decades. No surprise.

Glad the stuff will still be around. Quicksilver sponsored my cousin for years as a skimboarder. Between that and Victoria stuff, I got some really nice hand-me-downs as a kid!

I believe another company has already bought them.
Sorta. The brands were licensed to the company that's closing down. The brand owners are in the process of assigning them to a new entity.

The current stores are being liquidated, but the brands will reappear soon at another retailer.

Go woke go broke

Did they go woke? Never heard that. Wouldn’t surprise me since everyone jumped on that stupid fuckin bandwagon. Just didn’t hear of it from those brands.

Funny story . . . .
At one point, all of those brands had HQ's & Warehouses up the hill from me in Costa Mesa ( around Placentia & 19th-ish )
I had several friends, mostly surfers, who worked at all levels for those companies along with a few others.
In the mid-90's it was out of control . . . if you had a pulse you could get a job. Companies spending / wasting tons of money with total disregard.

I had a buddy who sold weed and worked in the Billabong warehouse pulling orders in the shipping dept. .
I used to go in there from time to time to do a little shopping.
One time I was in there talking with my buddy and over the intercom the receptionist says, " Somebody is on line 4 for 'Stacks' ??? . . . 😜 😆🤪 . . . my buddy 'Mike' looks at me and says," I'll be right back, I've gotta take that call". 😜😆🤪

Pretty sure this isn’t the first time they declared bankruptcy.

I know who handled the account the first time. Apparel is interesting industry to finance. You better know what you’re doing if you do it.

Same here. Quicksilver had a small store my Mom would take my brother and I to. We could design our own custom shorts. It was cool.

The surf lines and industry as we have all known them have been gone for years, sell outs. It will be interesting to see how they build these brands again. Sounds like the nine locations in Hawaii are still being negotiated.

Title sponsors for events have changed over the last several years. The formally known Billabong Pipe Pro just finished yesterday under the name Lexus Pro. Quiksilver had been on the title of the Eddie for over 30 years but couldn't come to agreements a few years back, this year luckily Rip Curl jumped on it.

Got to clean the drains every so often I guess to keep the flow moving.

The brands arent going anywhere, a different company had the rights to their brick and mortar stores, the company that actually owns Volcom and Quicksilver pulled thier rights and forced them to close their doors....they are already in talks with another company that will open new stores....

quicksilver was always my go to brand. but ever since the woke movement, their men's selection looking DRIPPING GAY to me. not all of it but i could walk into one of their stores and like 99% of the stuff. now its like 15%

the best place to get quicksilver is Hawaii. the surf shop over there have exclusive designs not offered anywhere else.
