Got a new buddy in my office today..

Now that I have finished screaming like a little girl, I can post some pictures of him.

I had to put him in a shop vac box and carry him outside.. So I carefully put the shop vac box on the ceiling and slid another peace of card board on top of it to knock him in the box.. Well he started squeakng at me as they do.. No big deal, so I'm pretty confident he's in the box and I lower the box, only to see him about 3 inches away from my hand stuck to the TOP of the cardboard (not in the box..) with his mouth wide open.. He squeaks, I scream (all the while standing on the desk)..

Recovery effort # 2 went much more smoothly.. He's outside now in the shop vac box... and he won't come out. As far as I'm concerned he can take his time becuase I'm not going to go reaching in there to get him out. LOL

Thats almost as funny as what i had to do yesterday.My stepdaughter got a hampster.(I was outvoted and apparently didnt object loud enough) She cant keep the thing in its cage and yesteday i heard it chewing on something next to the laundry room.Its not anywhere to be found until i put my ear to the wall and hear it scratching around between the laundry room and her bedroom IN THE FARGING WALL !!!! Fock, so i had to cut the wall open to retreive the rat.The daughter was crying and i didnt want it stinking in there after it died. I wasnt real happy.:swear

I still have a mummified "bat in a bottle" since 1970. My dad found it hanging dead from a lamp shade in our cabin in Big Bear City, CA. I use to take it to show and tell and now my kids have too. I always tell them, "What ever you do, don't open up the bottle!"

When we camp out on the pontoon boat at the local lakes we quite often find / hear them hanging from the bimini tops. Kinda freaky trying to avoid getting bat shitted on.

If that was me, you would have seen bullet holes in the ceiling...although I probably would have missed it due to my trmbling hands and girl like screaming.

Remind me to tell you the story of the time we had a bat in thehouse at the river. that will lead to another story about pellet gun holes in the walls out there

THis aint no lie... We had a bat in a trie shop way back when. I took the bat put it in a jar and sprayed him down with Chemtool.. "POOF" bat be gone....

Did you have any thought of just using the shop vac vs the box it came in?

I've gotten used to killing rattlers around the yard but I think a bat would freak me out. For starters I'd put on boots, a snowmobile suit, welding gloves and a full face street bike helmet then go in with the shop vac on full bat power.

Point in fact there was a large debate here about it.. LOL I thought the shop vac would be the way to go, but some "others" felt that it would hurt / kill the bat, and didn't want to see it harmed. Then there was the ole, who's gonna get it out of the shop vac if we do suck it up kinda deal, and it sure as hell wasn't going to be me etc.. etc..
