Medically, our daughter was never supposed to be able to have kids so we made peace with not having grandkids. Four years ago, "Daddy, I'm pregnant" kind of rocked my world. I had no idea how it would change me. Was completely clueless. Several months ago, they all moved to our place so I get to spend the day with my girl. Tractors, cow stuff, chores, naps and snacks. A three year old is basically my boss and somehow I'm more than ok with it.
I missed out on a lot with my kids as they grew up. Work was always hectic followed by priorities that I now question. It's like getting a second chance to do it right but with some life experience, wisdom and wayyy more patience.
Anyone else surprised how grand babies changed things?
