The family and some close friends had a great weekend on the water, so bummed its over. With kids starting back in school tomorrow, a shoulder surgery in a week, work travel and trip back to NC for a family wedding- I think the boat is going back into early hibernation and I am not happy about it
Here are a few trips from the weekend, The wife and kids and I jammed out on Thursday and got a room at the Nautical. We figured a ground level room would be great for the kids to be able to run down to the water and hang out and also enjoy the pool while it wasn't crowded. I have only stayed at the Nautical a few times and its been for bachelor parties and after staying there on Thursday I remember why... Our room was a dump ! The lady at the front desk assured us were staying in a newly renovated room- it wasn't... No big deal it was only for a night but doubt we will stay there again.
Look close at the back of this magazine you can see the people that stayed there must have been having a good time!! There was lots of "white residue" on it as well...
Some cool old school pic in the room from back in the 90's in the cove:
Kids were happy to wake up to boats in the morning
We spent most of the day Friday hanging out at the pool-
Weather was no joke on Friday!
We grabbed the boat out storage and headed up to Needles Friday evening
Friday nigh we had dinner at Valdez Mexican Restaurant in Needles- great food, even better Margaritas and its pretty cheap. After several margis we headed back to the house and decided to go look for scorpions around the property. I never knew that you can look for scorpions at night using a black light and the glow in the dark- kinda cool!
The kids spent the weekend going on boat rides, and hanging out having fun on the river.
We drove down river a few times and found a nice "island beach" below Needles on Sunday where we played polish horse shoes and washers.
My middle kid when on her first Jet Bote Ride and loved it!
This one is going to be my DD soon!
The other kids were all pumped to go for a hot lap in a Jet Bote!
Their was some pretty amazing sunsets this weekend
Woke up at the crack of dawn yesterday morning to take the boat back to Havasu and tuck her away, the river was so peaceful
Had a great trip, hard to be back home and at work!! Hoping to get out there one last time before desert season starts.
