That's awesome! Although it sounds like the seller did pretty well for himself

I just watched the movie Rush, about the F1 drivers and thought a movie about the Ford/Ferrari battle that ultimately led to the production of these cars would make a great movie.

My father has an original. Very cool car and certainly the showcase to his collection.

Let me try to get a few from him. He is really private about pictures of his stuff circulating.... His car is Yellow with Black stripes
Your Dad better not take the car out on the street then. You can cover the licence plate before taking the picture.
Here's my friend's Ford GT. Not as valuable but a great car nonetheless. 2012-05-27 11.22.04.jpg 2012-05-27 13.09.52.jpg

Thanks for posting, had not seen this before. The Ford GT 40 and the late model Ford GT's were some of the best looking cars ever to ever come out of US design studios. Beautiful cars. I love Corvettes but if I were in a position to pick up either a Ford GT or a 63 - 67 or late model ZR1 it would no contest. I would take the Ford GT in a heartbeat.

I'm a GM guy from day one but I think the GT40 and the Pantera are 2 of the best designs ever put to paper.

the best part is Salt Walther's name on the door. The 2005-2006 GT WILL be a million dollar car in 10+ years.

The Muira is quite the car, hot to drive, beyond loud too. the SV are the last two years of USA production as I recall. You could pick up a running one for 9K in the 80's, now restored maybe 1 Mil.

9K sounds way low for a Miura SV ;)[ my 66 BB Vette went for 20K restored then ] even for the 80's. I'll ask what my friend sold his Miura way back and I bet he would trade his 599 Ferrari he owns now if he had a chance.:thumbsup

Let me clarify that, a pre SV was in that range. I passed on a nice clean Espada at 6K in 1980 and like an AZZ, a 25,000 mile Hemi Cuda for 7K in early 80's. Panteras were about 5-6G then too, with miles as low as 4G.

From your lips to god's ears. If they do, I know of one for sale, one original owner, 5k miles. :D
