Making a little bit of progress. Lots of one step forward, two steps back. It is a lot of work re-rigging a boat, bit somehow I do this every time.

Got the sea strainer and oil cooler placed. Putting them here allows me to sit on either side of I need to work on it for whatever reason. Still mulling it over but damn there is a lot going on in here.

This is looking great. Keep the pics coming. You are making crazy hp in your motor. Expected to see turbo or blower looking at your Dyno sheet.

Just cubic inches and a nice set of heads. Motor was originally built in 2006.

Got the oil cooler installed. Need to clean up now.

Making progress. Got power steering lines made with a kit from Imco, need to plumb the oil cooler with some goodies from Bill at Phenix. Water side plumbing is almost complete. List is getting shorter.

Making some progress. Nevermind the dust, this thing needs a bath for sure!

Making progress. Water plumbing is just about done. Trim tabs just about plumbed with stainless braid. Working on electrical now. Few loose.ends but I should have them figured out soon. Hoping to get this thing lit by the end of the month.

Knocked out a lot of wiring today. Getting excited now. Lots of one off parts as this ain't no mercruiser motor and without the efi things just don't mount up the same. Really fortunate to have access to manual mill/lathe to make my own parts.

Huge thanks the the previous owner. 2 years after buying this he has an answer for all my questions. Thanks Nate!

Just about have this thing buttoned up. Few more wires to finalize, and still need to do the engine/outdrive alignment, I have a kit on the way for that. Test run at Elsinore before the end of the month, then off to Havasu.

Didn't really want to drill anymore holes in the boat, but I had to find a place for the hose adapter, especially considering it leaks like crazy. Turned out pretty good except for the brass. Stainless to come.

Haha, oh yeah, trim tabs work too! Drive hopefully getting installed on Monday.

Got the motor done. 548 Chevrolet. It was in my jet boat previously. Originally built around 13 years ago. Really low hours on it so pulled the cam out (had a big solid roller in it) and went to a hydraulic roller. Power at 6100 is identical to what I was making previously, with a much more conservative setup so pretty happy with it. Was expecting to give up some power. Motor was built by Dave Ebbert. At least you know where everything goes now, will be a piece of cake. Sorry to hear about the setback but I'm sure you will come out happier knowing its all fresh. Keep us updated, your boat looks great.

Yeah, it should come apart pretty easily and give me a chance to change out a few more parts [emoji38].

After two years, another month isn't going to hurt.

Motor is out. I need to clean up some wiring to make it easier to remove the motor, but I had it out in 3 hours and I know a lot of time can be shaved with a few simple changes.

Good news is that I can clean up a couple of things now that I've had the motor in it.

New parts are in hand and will get installed after I have the transom assembly looked at.
