Just passed a Hallett 270 with red, yellow and white graphics and twins behind a white truck heading westbound on Carefree Highway in North Phoenix. Didn’t get a picture, but is he a member here?

Pretty sure he posted in the Hallett Owners Group on Face Plant yesterday.

You do know it has been listed for 3 years now right? Edit it finally sold
I've always wondered why it was listed for sale for so long? Seemed reasonably priced and the pictures all looked good. Had to be something for it to last that long?

Dave said the yellowing in the gel is pretty bad. and the motors are tired. The guy sent me pics last week, but wouldn't send any close ups. Was going to make the trip this week to see it in person. Guess I don't have to now.

If it’s the one with the 388 Scorpions,he said it had over 800 hours.

They were tired when I had it and needed to be rebuilt.. the gel was yellowing and there is no fix for that other than just a full Regel..

Good boat but I didn’t love it enough to refresh both motors and a complete Regel.

I love my 335, but will most likely sell it this season just to get something different.

What did you think of the Scorpion motors. The concept(maybe cheaper maintenance, maybe better fuel economy)of them sorta makes sense but in the long run does it make more sense running the Big Block platform? Obviously,if your talking cheap…your in the wrong hobby. 😂

In this set up there isn't room for twin big blocks so small blocks were the only option. Even with small blocks it is a tight fit.

Big blocks fit. Bud designed the boat for small blocks. It's not that tight even when working on them.

This boat it looks tight because of the step bottom.

Interesting, I haven't seen one with big blocks and was told s couple of different times they were designed for small blocks. I didn't think there was enough width in the engine bay for them since all the ones I have seen in person look pretty tight with small blocks

There is one for sale with big blocks on FB marketplace. We had an 89 270T. Great big lake setup.

Just saw the silverwing. Did you have small blocks or big blocks? Our friends have one with the twin 383's. Boat runs good.

Not him. I think they were originally 350's reworked by GT and added aluminum heads.

No, it is owned by Greg and soon to be owned by his son. There was a build thread on here about it.

No. I just buy parts from Gentry. I stop by there there quite a bit. I’m also friends with Marcos and I always check out the new boats he’s rigging
I was about to say what the heck lol. Heard you guys are moving to a new place. Congrats to you and Mario man

My boat [ 1990 Mirage 25'7 has 8' beam, similar to the Hallett. Not much room between the 6,2's. I usually pull the rear bench out for easier access working under the engines. Twins are rare for the Mirage 257's, only a few made. Single big block is better for weight distribution also. I've seen one with twin BBC's, literally no room between the exh manifolds to reach with your arms between.

My SBC's have some room. I've made two fixing points for the ram to open the lid straight up, helps.

Thanks man! Yeah Mario bought Connolly Marine and SoCal will have a new shop at that location. Next time you’re in town during the week stop by and say what’s up
Heck ya man I’ll have too. We won’t be out till the Thursday of supercat fest maybe I can drop in that day. Kid is having surgery beginning of March so that put a damper in our plans for boating March like we usually do.
