Parker oil avgas pumps were down this morning, bought it at Chevron by Arby’s, 7.59 a gallon, most I’ve ever paid.

Dude at Parker oil said the state is going to stop allowing “av gas” to be sold at car pumps but they’re still gonna have 100 octane and was supposed to have it yesterday afternoon. 🤷🏻‍♂️ so we didn’t get an fuel, there, ended up going to Sundance Mobil and got 110 octane. $9.99 a gallon! Put 100 galllns in. Then today went back to Parker oil to see if their 100 pump was working but it was not. So topped off with 91 there (100 gallons).

Ended up getting it at the airport. I was told they are getting rid of avgas at pumps in Havasu. Airport will be the only option. I cant confirm that but is what I was told at Chevron near Arby's.

I talked with Parker Oil yesterday, no more Avgas at car pumps, they will have 100 octane unleaded at their pumps. It will 7.39 a gallon, Avgas was a good deal. How much of a pain is to get at the airport and can you pump into your boat?

I knew this day was coming. They (government) have been trying to get rid of 100LL for many years. Looks like this is the end. Bummer.

Is it easy to go into the airport? Is there limit how much you can get?

I wonder if it will be ethanol free? I can get 100 octane at the pump in California (Sonoco) but it has ethanol in it.

I just talked with Chris at prestige about this regarding a boat I’m looking at. He said it’s super easy to get it at the airport, there’s a gate with a code and you turn one way for self service, and another way for full service for .40 more a gallon.

Curious what state law exactly prohibits 100LL sale at the pump. I've had lots of "dudes" over the years quote laws that don't exist anywhere other than their mind. I did a quick Google search and didn't bring anything up other than the ban on Regular leaded gasoline from the mid-80's. I would think that with the performance boating industry in Havasu, if such a law were passed it would have made a buzz. Or maybe the ADEQ 'discovered' 100LL being sold at car pumps.

Even though pricy one can get some VP vintage with lead (103 octane). Just mix with with 93-97 octane non ethanol. The lead in the VP with bring the no lead up.

Do you call a number? Stated above there’s a code. What is it? Can someone walk us through the process?
Preferably through PM, and to me as well. If that’s the last place to get AV let’s not ruin it by putting the code out on the internet.

My small municipal used to be easy as well. Too many people abused it and now it’s a total pain in the ass!

Would they also care if you roll up with (4) 55 gallon drums?

When you pull up to gate 5, there is a sign with a number to call. Gate 5 is just on the south side of Hanger 24 restaurant. Call the number and they will open the gate. Go around to the right to the big white fuel tanks. There is a pump that takes credit cards. It was $6.20 a gallon on Sunday.

Looking at doing this tomorrow when we roll in to town. Confirming this is Havasu airport, and they are cool with pulling the boats up to the pump? What’s the best street to get to Gate 5? Haven’t been to that airport before. Used to get it at Sun Valley in fort Mohave

So the same place you turn left to go to Dillards, go right to the airport. Then on Whelan Drive, turn left for Hanger 24. Then and immediate right for that gate. Then through the gate, go around the building to your right and the self serve pumps are in the center of the big area to the south west.

Look up the airport on Google Maps, using Satellite imagery. It’s pretty clear.

Set your Waze for Hanger 24 and it basically takes you right to the gate.

On another note, Rice Road was a dream yesterday. With the off-ramp closed at Desert Center it was empty.

Tough on quotas, but good for land speed records 😅

Haha. Enough dedicated folk who refuse to take the 10 found the work around though.

Desert Skies is the place. I've been buying large quantities of 100LL there for at least a decade+. Always been the best price and cash has always gotten a discount. The price right now is the highest I have ever seen it last time I was there was this last November and it was 5.40 a gal. I hate to see Parker oil dropping it because that was very convenient for smaller quantities and still great pricing just before the holidays it was 5.70 a gal. Losing the convenience of buying it all over town is a big game changer for many including myself I use that stuff in everything high-performance. From what I am told the current situation is not even an EPA issue it has to do with the state of Arizona and an audit on fuel consumption and tons of AV being sold in and around Havasu without the proper tax being collected therefore the red flag appeared. Not sure exactly if this is 100% credible but it kind of makes sense. In addition it is on the chopping block for the EPA. Regular pump gas sucks ass and Ethanol fuels are highly corrosive to aluminum engine components. "Race fuel" is just stupid expensive for the majority to burn large quantities. A 91/93 octane blue fuel would be ideal. Leave it to the government to fuk us motorheads over🤬

And it waited until the week I bought a boat that’s been running on 100LL. Assssssholes!

There's gonna be a line at the airport every Saturday morning, hopefully that doesn't cause them to stop selling to boaters.

No. I fill up a 100 gallon fuel cell there. That pump is probably 35+ gallons a minute. It's fast.

They aren’t auto shut-off pumps right? Trying to remember from when I got my pilots license but it’s been 20 years.

Correct. You'll have fuel on the ground if you don't watch it. Pull up to the gate and call Desert Skies. They'll buzz you in. (928) 764-8000

Can you get gas at the Parker airport?
Parker oil in Parker will only fill gas now, no cars or boats.

? You mean they won’t put gas in a boat? AV gas? Can’t you do it?
There is no longer any AV at the pump. They will have 100 unleaded, no ethanol at the pump shortly in its place.

They said the Parker Oil in Havasu just got their first load of 100 unleaded at the pump. About $7.35/gallon.

But Parker Oul still sells 91 no ethanol still?
