I want too! Was talking to a guy that was telling me about “slot canyon” as well which is part of the ride. Said it looks just like Moab

GO out Standard to Mohave wash at the corrals. there is a cut over 4x4 trail about a mile up on the right from from the corrals. After about 5 miles on the 4x4 trail it dumps you out onto those long graded roads which you can select a few ways to get there. Don't trust a lot of the washes in the area once you complete the 4x4 cross over road as most are fenced off for cattle.

Lots of cool stuff out there. We try to do the route in from wikieup to Havasu each year. Also check out the Mckraken mine on top of the mountain. Keep your eyes peeled as Polaris does a lot of testing out there.

check out the 50 cal round in the last pic.

We do an overnighter every year. An easy way is continue just a mile past the cabin you were just at and hang a left at the power lines. Take the power line trail all the way to Alamo lake road and hang a right. Takes you directly to the lake. It also easy to see on google earth.

There are a couple slot canyons. One is so narrow it is about 18" wide and another is one you can get a jeep through. Both are out that direction. One is way out past Swansea and the one you can jeep through ( although tight) is out Mineral springs Rd by a really cool old mine. I'm sure there are others as I am not sure which one you are talking about. The drainage into Alamo with a slot canyon is Maggie wash.

Anyone been to the slot canyon RD is talking about?

Never been to one on this side of bill Williams but have been to two on the Parker side. The better of the two being just off mineral springs road.

Whats the mileage to get to Alamo? I want to check it out on my bike.
Not sure on the mileage but I can make it there with a stock tank on my crf450. We then have fuel waiting for us then fly down Alamo road to the 40 for the trip back.

Anyone have a GPX file of the ride?

The guy that owns the thrifty I’ve cream by my house is big into off-roading with his FJ. He has all the nav files. Said it would be about five hours round trip.

I’m in. The wife will not like this trip so just me I could even do an overnighter as well

Any weekend but this weekend. Let’s plan it! I’m ok with overnight or one day.
Tom if you want to overnight I can haul all the shit in the ranger so you can ride your bike if ya want.

You would have to be hauling with minimal stops and little time at the lake to make it round trip in 5 hours if you're starting around havasu.

I've made this run. We did a one day deal, headed to the cabin, up the road to Maggie wash, and on to Lake Alamo. I was following a guy that knew the way so I can't help with directions. If I remember correctly we did well over 200 miles that day, got home well after dark. the best part of the whole trip was Maggie wash a lot of fun to drive thru. We fueled up and had a couple beets at Lake Alamo. Long but fun day.

We would need to get gas or bring some to make it round trip. I just looked at google earth and it looks like you head to the cabin go a bit further make a left onto power line road and take that all the way in. From first look it looks to be about 75 miles. Does that sound correct?

Once I do the run I’ll have it on my gps for future but I have never done this run. I can get us to the cabin but that’s about as far as “I know”. Looks easy enough tho. Do they have fuel at Alamo Lake?

There will be nothing at all on "this side" of Alamo. So no gas closest gas is back in havasu or the 95&40 as there is no station in yucca anymore.

I’d go, but need to get my wheels and tires. Still working on the order, that said I’m in. Tom I’d likely roll solo so you’d be more than welcome to hop in the passenger seat.

If they have fuel there I can run it on the bike for sure.

There is fuel at the Wayside inn. You will likely go past it on your way to the lake. If you come across the desert on the 15 road, you will go right by a slot canyon. Cant remember the name, I just drive there. You will see an old school bus, turn uphill. Again I just drive there in the RZR from the lake.

There is another slot or "mud"canyon within striking distance. Go past the Wayside inn, heading towards Wickenburg. Turn North(ish) on Palmaritas rd. when you cross Date Creek, there is a Mud Canyon visible to the Northeast. If you continue on Palamritas Road, you will find yourself at the Old Palmaritas Ranch. The BLM is restoring it right now. Its right down in the Santa Maria River bed. Historic place, lots to see. There was a casino there at one time.

Striking part of Arizona, lots of history.

PT, I would call the Wayside before counting on fuel, they've been know to be closed.

This is all on the opposite side of the lake. Unless they cross bill Williams before the lake to end up on the south side of the lake. From havasu they would be hitting the north side of the lake.

So, no access to fuel from Havasu?

I may go in the Rubicon. I might be an anchor if everyone is in a SXS though, but I would have gas. :)

No fuel the back way from Havasu to Alamo.

How many miles round trip?

I can go about 100 on a tank of gas in the commander. I could bring 4-8 more gallons

I’m In for this run rather do just a day run as long as it’s not the same weekend as the pirates run at the end of the month. New Years we went jeeping out of Signal road and the big sandy river just after Wikieup mile 132.

If you look at the dirt road that comes in from the lower right hand corner of the photo, the Wayside is visible there, on that road. From there you can go around the Lake on the 15 road, which is marked on the photo. I think the 15 road goes all the way to Needles

I think the coolest one I have seen to date is an app called Polaris ride command.
