It’s a good location for sure. The gas station around the corner is sketchy but overall not too bad. I tried to switch it up and stay downtown a little over a year ago. Hilton was decent. Good rooftop bar. Until a pipe bomb went off a couple hundred yards to the right and someone emptied their 9mm clip 10 minutes later to our left.

It's really disappointing and disturbing to know the city of my birth has turned into a hellhole. In the 60s and 70s, Albuquerque was a great place to live, with little crime and its natural beauty. I grew up living at the foot of the Sandias, and the memories of skiing and hang gliding on the mountain are irreplaceable.

Many of my friend's dads were ex-military, or worked at Sandia Base. Sandia Corporation was formed at the end of WWII, and its purpose was to engineer and build delivery systems for the nation's atomic weapons. My best friend's dad was a VP at EG&G, the company that performed secret contracts for the government at the base and Los Alamos. My Dad's company performed work for the government all over the state, which, along with the base and Los Alamos, included contracts for Nike missile silos and experimental structures at White Sands Missile Range.

Now the city and state have been wrecked by Democrats. They've created a dependency and welfare state among the population that has destroyed self sufficiency and exploded crime. It has torn apart Indian society, drugs and alcohol are killing the youth.

What a tragedy.
