This boat is a national price no negotiating boat - it sells for $16k with 90 horse motor - plus the trailer.

Makes a nice little 20 footer for the price

When i searched for this it shows “starting at $19,695” on the Avalon website and then I see them for $40,000 on random dealer sites.

At $16,000 i would probably buy one but i am on a horsepower restricted lake so i’d need a 20 horse on it. I have a trailer.

I don’t have the details only repeating what I was told when we shot it for the catalogue. I’m guessing the dealer ones may have added options on it???

Found a wake surf edition on FB. Looks like @RiverDave convinced Volvo Penta on forward props lol. 6.2 for power and Comments had retail price at $158k

Here are some engineers launching the WakeToon this morning for some more testing. I believe the Volvo team is on board with the Avalon engineers...

Ok Ok I give up fighting these ridiculous things... it looks awesome and I want one. But I'm gonna fill it with strippers just in case I see someone I know. ;]

You're going to add strippers to a boat...
Your finances must be in check and amazing! Those two things are endless money pits 😂

The guy who bought my first river pad had a "Significant Other". She had some "friends" with some store bought hardware. Turns out the buyer's SO was a, ummm, Den Mother we'll say. Some of the talent that old guy brought to the water wasn't too bad.

Looks like... wider, cut a flat in them and but a big ass wake tab on them to dig it deeper in the water.

now you’ve got a whole new type of boat for people to hate, big ass minivan patio that throws rollers over un suspecting docks in Parker.

this, my avalon does not have these. This is what must be creating the wake.

If you look at the video sirbob posted of it you can see the toons aren’t like any normal toons, their cut flat, wider, have like guillotine type trim tabs and the whole penta reverse chingas thing to pull it down.

pretty crazy design

In these shots I’m running a 27 ft Excalibur Black w/ Grey interior with a 400 Merc. Turning a 16in prop running around 40-41 MPH at the time of these pics.

I’m towing the CEO of Avalon, first knee boarding - then he slides off the board and barefoots behind the toon!

As I’m wrapping up I’ll finish with a few HP related passes!

This boat is a 27 ft Grand Tahoe - Tahoe brand rigged with twin 450Rs.

2 of these have been clocked at 76MPH - they were trying to get this one to 80 this week, I didn’t hear any final numbers.

Our business is aluminum and in April we had a two-year low, the price now it’s rising sharply so I anticipate a price increase.

Such a cool thread, thanks..... unfortunately most of your vids weren't viewable to me but I did see the one where Peter was in his "phone booth." That's the damndest thing ever.... could've used those years ago when taking Fridays off and drifting out in ocean with a couple other buddies with remote sales gigs... we always worried about calling our bosses and having them hear ocean background sounds like seagulls and boats going by etc.... great concept.

Haha - yes that tent thing came in handy.

We had rain one day and we had to still shoot pics - and then it was pretty cold another day so It was nice to get in and stay out of the wind when we were crossing the lake going to another shooting location.

It was also the perfect phone both!

We averaged about 12 hrs on the water chris crossing the lake and chasing the sun for the last four days!

Welcome home sirbob.
I enjoyed following your thread the past two weeks. We have family in Michigan and have been boating on a couple of their lakes. Beautiful state and lakes in the summer. Great writing and pics/videos. I have a new appreciation for pontoon boats and feel that is the future for us. Thanks!

Thanks for the thread. Boat shows and fun stuff have been canceled this year. Going to the river, we get our "kinda" show, but not the same. It's good to see not all pontoon boats are 300+horsepower, and 100k and up. Some of us won't reach baller status for quite awhile...almost wanted to see if they had a 20ft in the "scratch and dent" lot :p

I didn’t see any scratch and dents but I did see plenty of toons for the average Joe.

Heck the 22 ft one I spent time driving for the video crew was a blast to drive around. The key to the smaller boats is just staying on smaller water. I wouldn’t want to cross from Havasu to the casino when the white caps are out in a small pontoon but here is plenty of good boating to be had in one!

So has anybody figured out the video issues? I’ve tried it on my phone and laptop. Plays for about two seconds and stops again and again I just can’t watch it and I would like to. Any ideas?🤔

Sorry and too bad about the vids. I'm actually having trouble viewing them on my phone now and every time I come back to the thread its says it has "reloaded" because of an error. Also when I'm typing it skips and jumps letters etc. Possibly there are to many vids in one thread ? I do think its a tech issue from the site because it was working perfect for me earlier but now its not working as well as it could when im on my iPhone.

It does seem to work ok on my Mac laptop though???

Given that several of us have commented on the video issue my guess is that it would be a website tech issue. But I have no IT background other than being a user.

When will Avalon release the 2021 floor plans for Ambassador and Excaliber? Wish the website had more photos of the various interiors. Hard to tell what's what in some cases. Went to an Avalon dealer today, no inventory so you only have the brochure and website to go on when ordering. Leaning toward ordering a 2021 model with the 27" performance tubes and a Merc 400.

I don’t know anything about the dates of web updates or brochures but I do know they are no longer making the Ambassador model. Just the Excalibur.

Here is the 27 Excalibur w 27in tubes with a Merc 400 that will be in the 2021 catalogue. It’s the same boat I’m pulling the Avalon CEO barefoot skiing in the earlier post 126 above. These vids are from the photo shoot a few days before it was put in then water.

The issue is apple made a new video format that doesn’t work with anything other than “new” apple products..

The website loads the file and recognizes it as a video file. Your device unless it’s a new. Apple product won’t recognize it as it is proprietary to Apple..

I can see the vids fine on my phone and iMac etc

Makes sense, thanks.... good ole Apple. Par for the course.
