Is it electric or gas? Regardless, you'll crash it a few times before you'll become an expert, get spare parts for it.

Those are for pussies, lol. I have 3 electric r/c helis one is 3D Align 450 , only extra feature is tail rotor compensation.
My first r/c heli is a Bell 47 gas model from early 70's. Fixed pitch rotor with throttle control for take off and hover., 4 ch TX with mechanical tail rotor compensation, sitting in my garage collecting dust, Cool looking though, M.A.S.H model. Was a handfull to operate.

Especially when these pro 3D chopper pilots showing off close to ground level flying. So far 2 people died by rc helis in the US, and I've heard another fatal accident in England, A person was decapitated by the rotor blades. Anything as large as 450 and over in size is not a toy and must be watched from a distance by spectators. The rotor tip speed gets faster as the size of the blades grow. Bigger helis like 600 series can reach close to 100 mph at the tips.
I love the large true scale jet powered r/c helis doing slow maneuvers myself

One of our neighbors had one. He was outside non-stop for months practicing with that thing. He had some big training, landing gear deal on there to help him. Never really saw him fly it.
