Friend of mine left his boat outside covered for a couple of weeks and now has nasty staining on top of the interior. I remember a post like this in the past, don’t remember the solution. Any advice would be appreciated.

It’s probably going to come back each time boat is stored with cover. I used scrubbing bubbles and a conditioner.

There is no hope for that. The same thing happened to me. The sun will help it go away a little, but it’ll be back. I had to replace the whole interior and foam.

I think that is bacteria/mold in the vinyl. If he keeps it in the sun for a day or two it should go away, albeit temporarily. Not sure if there is any type of vinyl conditioner/cleaner that will cure it permanently though.

I use Gunk engine degreaser on hard stains, not aerosol! The pump spray it works!

I like the Mr Clean sponges, works wonders. Then Hot Sauce for vinyl interiors.

Put it out in the sun for the day and it will be just fine. It's mold and will go away. If you want to clean it use extreme cleaner (it's the best)

Do not do harsh cleaners just leave uncovered in the sun for a day or 2 it will go away.

And do not use magic eraser it wont do a thing for that and sure it cleans stains good but also is like fine sandpaper it just grinds material away and you will see its results a couple of years later no matter what conditioner you put on afterwards!

Everyone is right here. No amount of Magic Eraser or cleaners will clean that. The sun will bleach it back out. My cover used to do that, so I would put a sheet over my hatch first, then the cover. That seemed to help.

Read this and tell me if you still want to use "magic eraser on your boat interior"
