So after many calls and texts with the owner the wife and I decided to make the Trek from Socal to Portland to look at and buy our first cat hull, a 25 daytona.

We were a bit uneasy driving so far to look at a boat but the owner did not lie when he said this thing was clean. Hell it was sterile.

made the deal and had a mobile shrink wrap guy do his magic and we were on the road the next day.

5 days up and back made for a nice get out the house adventure but glad to be home.

parked the boat in the garage next to my 23 footer that I need to sell and holy shit is the Daytona massive. Gonna need seat time to get comfortable in this sled.

It’s a merry Christmas so far.

Congrats! Looks really clean. You're gonna love it. I did a road trip to get our 25 Daytona back in the day as well.

Sure do miss that boat!

I’ve seen that on the river up here a few times. I’ve never been right next to it, but I’m cruising past it always looked pretty clean.

Did the owner say what he was moving to?

The reason he is selling is for a pontoon.
The owner mostly uses it up in Oregon at a local lake with no beaches. So it’s never been beached which is a plus. He did take it to havi for the eliminator regatta though

what’s cool is this is a paint job boat not gel. So the pearl inlays in the checker set this apart from all the late 90 gel scheme.

4 coats of clear plus ceramic coating.

Nice Daytona. Didn’t see a year. Me thinks somewhere around a 98’-04’?

Nice single step, should run close to 100 with that power, great all round boat, not too big, not too small. Have had three of them, it’s the most sold hull in the history of eliminator.

Yep, that’s it! The few times I’ve seen it on the river it’s been nose out on a rope. Pretty sure I’ve seen it at Merwin, and LBC as well. Nice boat!
