Golden hawk I believe.
57 if I was guessing.

If it's the same car, I seen it back in the late '80s or early '90s.

From what i recall that is about when it was done. I know the guys name that built it was Bob and he was tight with Coddington and all those big names. He also was the owner of the one and only factory Yellow Grand National. That whole story there as well is bad ass. GM showed with 7 different colored GN’s to some show and then announced the all black that was to be the actual car, than gave the other 6 to certain builder guys that worked with GM back then.

Seems up your alley. The history in this car is awesome i just don’t recall all the facts. View attachment 1114022 View attachment 1114023
When I was in high school, our football booster club put on a car show every year. It was one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. We had one of those Stubi's come. Almost exactly like that one. Had the Studabaker logo bead rolled into the top grill cover pan. Even had the blower sticking through the hood. Badass car!

Is the Studebaker out of Havasu ?
My buddy got from the builder that lives in the LA area a friend of all of ours, then realized it’s not for him. It is just sitting in the garage now, here in Ft Mohave. As he said today “i really need to sell it but don’t even know where to list it”.

Oldsmobile windshield? That was a popular swap on 49-52 chevy's, not '53's. 53's didn't have a split windshield.
I need to clean this thread up a little, first by admitting I was wrong... you are correct about the windshield,... and i was wrong... being used to dealing with the trucks of that era, 1954 was the first one piece windshield...I haven't seen one of these cars since 1958, and i was only 5.... to be truthfull... I really don't remember the windshield in that car, but remember my other uncle changing out the windshield in his 51 to olds.... and then trading that car in on a 58 impala... old 50's chevys where never that popular with streetroders as you had to have pre 48 to be in...and even then it had to be Ford... as I see it right now, resto rodded 50's cars seem to get most of the attention with all age groups.. keeping the dash stock, with up graded gauges seems best, that and OG seats.. same with the mustangs and Camaro's, people wanna look in side and see mustang, not recarro..

any way,... sorry for taking out of school here..

Thanks,.. got the drop spindles comming, and I'm gonna clean the suspension and get it right... front is up too high, and the rear is kinda hacked, but over all very happy with this cruiser ...not perfect,... but very drivable...

I'm not very happy with the tci cross member, or the way it was in stalled,... I used to modify them when I put them in to be able to get the car lower without it dragging on every thing.... that and with 15'' wheels the cross member hits the ground before the rim.... not good if you get a front blow out.... no steering....

Great car Steve, I'm sure you'll make it right. I picked this up last year, not perfect but pretty nice. I've got Eric Barker lined up to do a couple improvements, but not getting carried away. It's a 50 deluxe coupe, windshield has been replaced, also a 49 hood ornament.
