What should a decent 50 gallon electric tank cost? Looking online they are all over board with 6 year and up warrenees. The one I need to replace is a 50 with dual 4500 elements. And yes electric is cheap in in my local.TIA

When I was living in Kent and the folks were in Cashmere my Mom would brag about their $40.00 power bill when mine was in the mid two hundreds every month.

Not positive but the more expensive ones were longer warranty are supposedly made nearly identical you’re just paying for more features and extra warranty time. That’s what I’ve been told and I think it was a plumber that told me that. 😂

My last one was probably 15 years ago and my plumber friend installed a Rheem.

FWIW myself and two of my neighbors have replaced with Rheem and all are still working with horrible hard Havasu water.

Make sure you put a Smitty pan under your water heater with a drain to outside, you will thank me when it your water heater leaks and it doesn't flood the nearby area. New water heaters seem to last just a few months past the warranty. My previous water heater lasted almost 15 years, both my replacements lasted barely past their 6 year warranty.
