@pronstar

What was the first year BMW made the X5?

What was the first year the X5 went to the new can buss software? (had to be programmed and all that shit) đź‘Ž

What's the engineering number on the first gen X5?

Thanks bro.

And if anyone has an older X5 for sale, shoot me a PM about it. Thanks.

E53 is the first-gen X5.
Went on sale 1999 (prolly in the fall) as a model-year 2000.

Followed this car really close when it launched, which was a year after the Lexus RX.

They handled amazing for an SUV back then...the 315-section steamroller rear tires on the performance models had something to do with that [emoji106]

Even today, I don’t think many are using such a wide rear tire on an SUV.

E53 went to 06, and the CAN Buss kicked in after 04?

If I had a Real memory, I would know all this shit!!

They were always can-bus Joe. Are you asking when they started with the CCM/CCC/MOST crap? I guess it would have been 06 when I-Drive came around in the X5? So E70 in 2006?

Not to piss off the Bimmer guys...but am I the only one that thinks an awd 6.2 Ls would be fun to stab in one? Did an intake seal on an 05, looked like it wouldn't be too hard to fit, and the factory wheels and stance would be great.

....and no, it is not a truck.

The shop next door to JMS tried to do it. They never got it running as far as I know...

I was told someone DID make a kit to match up all the electronics, but the shop didn't want to pay for it. So it just sat there for years.

🤷
