And boat manufacturers are changing design and production as fast as they can to capitalize on the new outboards.

Going to need to use thicker gauge aluminum on the new pontoon boats.
Last summer I did some work on a newer whizbang toon. I believe it had twin 350's. Having never really been. Around one before, the mounting was one of the things I looked at. The rear plate was a billet aluminum piece, probably 5/8" to 3/4" thick. I wonder how much stronger stuff will have to be, between the power of the motor, and just holding it up.

Anyone know that dude in the photo?

It would be funny to find out that he’s like 4-11, 105 lbs.

With that said those f-ers are huge though. And the boat has 3 of them😱

John isn’t that tall of a guy.....
They aren’t tiny engines though.

27.5 pitch props on that boat too. 🤓
Even if he is only 5' tall those motors are like 10'...who's going to be the first person to put two of them on a toon? Boating is so weird these days.

John is taller than that...he’s at least 5’9?
Met him a couple weeks ago.

for the record, that’s john hice. The guy that built the turbine powered warlock. Brilliant man. Runs an outstanding marina here in Florida.

they’re not 10’ tall either.
My 20” 400r is 6’2” from top to bottom. The new 600 v-12’s are closer to 7’ overall.
I’m not saying they’re small, but go see one in person.
