The Hondas are probably the most common off roader camp generator you see.

Our Honda eu2000 was bought at least 14 years ago and was fantastic.
Banged around the back of our truck and boat deck, slammed into everything in every situation, a great generator, never an issue.

I changed the oil each week of running time and that was countless times.
1000s of hours of run time. Relentless operation.

Finally the dreaded crankcase oil seal leak became unmanageable and we bought the eu2200.

The eu2200 most definitely did the job better suiting our needs. More robust crankcase oil seals we read someplace.

But soon a simple bump cracked the case.
So I swapped the damage part with the old part off the eu2000 that’s in my bone yard.

The eu2000 part definitely more durable. Not as brittle, a more flexible and forgiving plastic and I saved $50 plus tax and shipping for the OEM part.

So handle your eu2200 with care. Made out of potato chip material.

Honda suitcase type invertor gens are rated at true power, they have the bigger displacement motor then most in there class. If anything they might put out more then rated?my EU2000 ran my roof AC on my 25' travel trailer that pulls 13+ amps, granted it was on a cool day at sea level,so i dont reccomend this.It had to be on fine line of overloading..with that being said,i would be confident the EU2200 could handle it at sea level anyway..

The 2000 usually had a hard time with the RV microwave. No sweat with the 2200 never pop'd even when the RV batt charger kicked in.
You can see in the pic the 2000 end case been banged around pretty good with no cracks, but the 2200 I simply bumped it on the tailgate lifting it and the hole appeared.
Friends Predators 2000 seem quieter and smoother but reading around they die around 700 to 800 hours.
I gave the 2000 to a motorcycle mechanic friend yesterday he's going to repair the oil leak. I'll get back with how that went.
Have another friend in our Dumont group he rebuilds his. Rings, valves etc he overhauls it.

Sounds like the 2200 is a worthy investment to me then. Should do everything I need it to do on the motorhome when I don't feel like running the on board gen set.

I have three of the eu2000s. We killed one a remodel job. But buying a new genny is a better deal than paying for a temporary power pole. These things just run and run. Until one day it wouldn't start. It turns out my guys never changed the oil or probably even checked it.. LOL I stashed it for parts.

A couple months later the pull starter broke on #2. So I swapped it out with parts from the dead one. Changed the oil, cleaned it up and it works like a champ. These Hondas are just amazing.
