They are very cool

I had a 70 model back in the day that not only had the folding handlebars but also had been modified with a hinge in the middle of the frame (like a swing away tongue) so I could fold it in half and take it with us in the back of the airplane:cool.....they are a blast and seem to be woth the $$$ now.........wish I still had that thing:grumble:

I just picked up a '71, mostly original and runs great. speedo, lights work and everything. Just needs a few cosmetic things and a once over to register it for the road.

Like ritchey said, it looks like people are asking alot of money for them all done up. This one has a permanent home though, its fun as hell!

I've got a '71 Aqua-blue one with 4 speed and manual clutch, I'm told that this model is fairly rare without the auto-clutch dealio. I dunno.

Thats what i was told also. Mine came from a buddy who bought some guys whole shop out. Ended up with a dozen bikes in all stages and one was a 4 speed manual. I do believe he got an extra 4 speed tranny in the deal, along with a truckload of other spare parts, engines, etc

My brother in law messed with a bunch of those small Hondas years ago, I can see if he had any good sources.

Not sure what the market is now, but for a while these things were smokin red hot price wise bc all of us who either had one when we were kids or always wanted one... now had the greenbacks to pick them up.... there is a whole bunch of RDP similar forums for these things and of course some guys went off the deep end and have restored them to museum quality and were gettin over 5g's for the restored versions!!! Jr and I each have one and our plan was to just fix them up to bomb around the pits at tracks days..... we did get to run his at laguna seca flat out around the track once, it was a blast !!!!

I could use some parts for mine, if your buddy has some extra stuff ????

that is a sweet bike, they are super easy to work on and you can get almost any part for them. Most of the parts are chinese made and you gotta watch the quality but lots of parts and yours looks mostly complete.... nice work.

I have rebuilt and restored many CT70's. Dratv.com (Beatrice) and ebay is where I've purchased most of my stuff from.

I have used Dratv with good luck so far. You can swap in a Chinese 125 or bigger motor if you need more power.

I used to be into them.
Only advice I can give is use the more expensive carburetors. The cheap-O carbs are crap and or headaches.
Mickey Rooney (Mikuni) and Keihin no longer make replacements last I restored one. That may have changed.

eBay a good source and sellers rep is real important. Heed the reviews.

Just saw one of those for sale at Montgomery Motorcycles in San Clemente. It was the light / aqua blue and they wanted $2700.

Man, that thing almost came home with me! If it were not for the fact that I'm trying to put 2 kids through collage I would have bought it on the spot.

Very cool little bike.

My buddy had a perfect original one with wire wheels. I asked him why he sold it. Cause I'm a dumbass.

Congrats on a great bike. This is a crappy picture of the wifes 70 K0 model. It is a bit of an oddity. The frame comes apart in 2 pieces at a hinge. I have Googled the heck out of it and found nothing. I ran into an old Vietnam pilot at work that told me they use to take these bikes with the on the planes since the collapsed and could use them behind lines although I haven't been able to verify this. Still amazingly fun bikes that get smiles everywhere we go. Old pic but its the only one I currently have.

Does anyone have an opinion on what replacement carb would be the best to use?

I think mine has a aftermarket carb. I rebuilt the carb and it still seems to have some slight issues and leaks out of the fuel cut off.

We should do a group buy on a bigger drop in engine...lol

The good carbs are about $100.00
Under $30 ain't worth $5.

Sniff around and their are a few new carbs out there.
Worth the few extra $$.
The trick is draining them when not riding.
The carbs rot out.

I had a QA50. Busted my head open big time, the forks seperated apart while I was jumping.[emoji33]

Yep, me too... Never broke the forks though.

Had some time to start to clean her up. Ordered a new seat cover and a few other items to get ready to register it.
