I was wondering what people use to protect their boats while towing. I'd seen those huge RV style things that hook on your bumper. 3M tape? Is there anything else available?????

I installed these. They work great, since I can remove them when not towing.

Also, use a protective film when towing long distances

Put carpeted wood down the center and in between the main rails of the trailer.

Tow flaps are the way to go! They also keep the front of your trailer and the fenders from getting pitted to shit.

I made a set for my truck. I had a set of Road Wings before (similar set-up), however, they don't fit around a rapid hitch. I like the ease of taking the flaps off after towing.

First 3 pics: Custom Made for less than $50:thumbsup

Last pic: My old Road Wings. They're available at Hitch Depot in Monrovia for about $250. Nice set up but don't work with Rapid or Diversi-Tech drop hitches.:thumbsdown

I made these. Standard mudflaps are 24" for big rigs so I found a place that sells conveyor belts and misc. rubber. Had em powdercoated. They dont look real cool but they keep the rocks off everything and are easy to get off.

Those both look good. I'm currently making a set.. I'll post em soon. It's hard trying to make them soft on the eye.. but they do wonders esp with tires that pick up rocks.

You honestly start getting used to them. Usually when I get back from the river, I'm too lazy to pull them off for a few days or a week. People always ask if I was pulled over for no flaps.

My factory hitch has square tubing. So I took some square tubing that fits inside of it. I welded a nut on the piece that slips in, drilled a hole in the hitch so I could put a bolt in it. Bought some flaps at a truck stop, cut them to size an bolted it together.

I can get some better pics if your interested, this is all I could find on my hard drive.

I also did a set like Dennis did off the hitch on my Excursion a few years back, I'll see if I can find a pic of those.

The current set, I never take off and I like the way they look, the set on hitch like Dennis's, I would take off when I didn't tow.

Post some better pics of the F250 flaps! I like em! My Chevy hitch is round tubing so theres no way to slide tubing in, but Id like to do something that bolted to that area. The set up like yours and Singletons is much more sterty and doesnt rock from side to side the hitch mounted deals.
