My wife and I are 100% on the same page. She is even more conservative than I am…. Matter of fact she likes hanging out with me because I articulate her positions much better than she does… We often find ourselves yelling the same thing at the TV at the same time.

We finally turned off the TV news recently. All it does is make us angry so why bother….

I better not leave her cuz with all these dizzy broads around here I will never find another one like my wife. Nothing but tards here. Not a chance in hell.

Four ex-wifes, all of them had bull shit ideas of their own and couldn't stand any of it.

Also stopped watching the bad news a few years ago, There's nothing in the lies and their agendas I need to hear.

My wife and I have different opinions on a LOT of things. I don't think that's unusual in and of itself. We were raised in completely different parts of the country, by polar opposite parents with different cultural influences. She is also younger than I am, so that adds to the mixture. I try not to force my beliefs on her and she knows what things interest me and what doesn't. For us, we don't spend a lot of time watching the news or delving in political discussions. Once I figured out she had zero interest, I stopped trying. Now I just lean on Regor whenever possible. 😬

We dont watch the news often. Maybe 2-3 times a month.
I explained the news to my children this way.
"When I was your (their) age--the weatherman was always wrong. It was cloudy when he said it would be sunny. Rained on days it was to only be windy, etc... I always wondered as a kid--why someone that does their job so bad still has a job?" "Now--I like to watch the news for the weather only--cause its the most accurate part of the show"

Fortunately--we all in this house see the world pretty much the same way. The girls may be a litter softer on some subjects while me and the boy like to practice our toxic masculinity from time to time--but we are all facing the same direction.

I would never want to be with someone who doesn't think for themselves. Been with my wife since we were19 so 35yrs together we don't agree on everything but we respect each other. That is where this country has gone wrong if we don't all agree its end of world. Its exactly why this country is as great as it is.

Mine is fine until she gets on reddit, she gets all torqued over what gets posted. I don't understand how she can get all out of shape over that site, it's nothing but a bunch people trying make things seem like fact when there is no research or creditation behind it.

Like my dad says, "if it doesn't make you money or get you laid, don't stress about it."

One question. What does your wife think about the dem guy intentionally running over and killing what he believed to be a Maga?
The boy was 18 yrs old. The perp has been released.

My wife grew up in a CA dem family. But, she's now more conservative than me.

Huh? Got a link to that?

Stopped watching the news 2 years ago

I think I have you beat by 3-4 years. I am so much happier. I usually read the news for about an hour in the morning and then do not see it until next morning. Well unless it is weather related. Where we are you have to keep up with that.

The news is meant to enrage you or frighten you stay engaged. Absolutely no different than click bait BS on the web.

Alert, breaking news, flood alert, 50 million people effected, worse case scenario possible. For fucks sake a cloud can’t come over without a tornado, hail, flood weather alert. Be aware of what they are trying to pull off.
My wife used to watch the evening NBC news with good ol' Lester Holt. She stopped when I started mocking the daily leading story of "Millions of Americans under the threat of severe weather". Because there has never been a thunderstorm in the Midwest or a snowstorm in the Northeast before.

The "news" is entertainment, and it is all biased and it is all 90% bullshit.

My wife is Mexican that watches Newsmax everyday. We aren't opposites, but I think fiscally and she's hardcore conservative. I love how she has strong opinions and stands behind them. I find it more funny that she is hispanic, way right thinking and her family is hardcore left.

I only turn on the news to watch the car chases that @shintoooo posts up.

No reason otherwise. It’s all stories conjured up to fire you up and keep you watching all the Pfizer commercials. I’m not spending my important family time at home watching some dude wearing a ton of make up talk to a teleprompter.

Plenty of decent newsworthy reporting online if your specifically looking to learn something about a subject.

#1 - Don't watch the news and if you feel the need to read the news read the "Facts" from both sides.

#2 - Don't talk to anyone about the news, politics, or religion unless they can answer how it personally affects them directly (No friend of a friend bullshit) and WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT IT because complaining to me doesn't do a dam thing.

That's what my parents taught me...

Never discuss politics or religion with anyone.

Today, politics is all anyone wants to talk about anymore! My how times have changed.

And this is a perfect example of what's so F*cked up about the internet.

You've got sadistic pricks posting shit and complete morons believing them. Especially the young morons who seem anxious to try anything, the more insane the more appealing it is.

Yet if there's any common sense censorship to protect the gullible idiots, then the natives go completely off the rails ape-shit.
And the RDP community is certainly not immune.

The bullshit propaganda is even more heavily skewed on the internet than tv....and is constantly drilling it into our society. If they keep repeating the rhetoric sooner than later people just start to believe it.
Lets not even mention the gazillion "Master Sri" gurus on line spouting off how to fix your lives.🤪
Wife & I are approaching our 33rd...hopefully will make it.😑

In a perfect world, for sure.
In fact humanity in general would benefit from the genocidal elimination of a good portion of the ignorant, mentally or physically inferior, and terminally ill sector of the population at a young age.
Save resources, saves heath costs, solves a whole lot of overpopulation problems.
But as you're well aware, unlike the animal kingdom, this is not how our species deals with these situations, so it becomes somebody else's burden, often the public's in general.

watching nightly news before going to bed is like worshiping the devil if your a Christian. it's not good......
the news now is paid for. it's polarized. its just bad.

I used to really like watching the news. usually 6 oclock news. it was: and on this day this happened...

now: trump is wrong. guns are bad. immigrants are being wronged. give up the news................................

32 years married........ don't go to bed mad. or in the middle of an argument.

News was all but dead before Obama and Trump.

They don't show facts anymore like mentioned they sell fear.

We don't watch the news and thankfully 23 years in we both agree on 99% of things...eazy peezy.

Turn that trash off and thrown on some George Straight radio on Pandora.

Sure, but we are on the hook for that burden either way. If eating the bath salts or Tide Pods didn’t get them, the NyQuil chicken will.

Honestly a lot of this hysteria is just based on lore. It is a reaction to what appears to be trending. There are a handfull of people in society actually willing to try it this crap, sure, but it is not many.

This all goes back to don’t believe everything you see on the internet, tv etc.

The main difference between now and when I was young, more susceptible to peer influence and more prone to idiocy, is the rate at which trends spread and the % of the populace they can influence. This is what makes these peer trends far more potentially dangerous to those more easily influenced or looking for a cheap thrill.

You need to post that last sentence as "Sticky" for many of the adults here on RDP. 🤣

BREAKING NEWS: Illumination alert starting at sunset tonight. 330 million bracing for a state of darkness as it moves from east to west, lasting until sunrise tomorrow.
People of color, underserved communities, women and the LGBTQ community will be most impacted due to climate change.

My wife leaned left until Covid, and seeing how Trump was treated by the media and .gov

She leans right now.

Our biggest disagreement:
She’s pro choice, I’m staunchly pro life now (was agnostic until we had our first)

We got rid of cable and only stream now. Haven’t watched the news in years. My wife is also Canadian and could give two shits about our politics or her countries for that matter. We don’t talk politics. We have plenty of other shit to argue about. Lol.

Honestly, I could never live with a woman that didnt share the same values as me. It sucks that politics have become so entrenched in our lives, but there is no way I'm going to waste any time on a woman who thinks the shit that is happening now is "good"...

^^^ This is the key or dealbreaker

I always want to ask pro choice people if it's OK if we rip unborn puppies out of their pregnant mothers' bellies. I'm sure they'll react in horror and scream NOOOOO! Just another way to catch them at their hypocritical best

Assume you saw the link which was posted? Question - How does this compare to the killing of George Floyd? Major News Media seems to be crickets on the intentional murder of 18 yr old Cayler Ellingson. It is absolutely absurd.

My Wife was brought up a staunch Democrat, her Stepdad was a Dem senator in Mass and the Kennedys were like Gods to that family.

Two things have brought her around, 15 years ago she started getting serious about our investments, retirement etc., that opened her eyes.

She has several employee's that are South American and they look to her for advise. The day's leading up to the 2016 election they would go into her office and ask if they could get time off to go vote. She got tired of hearing them asking if they should bother voting because the news they were watching was telling them don't bother, Hillary has already won.

That seriously pissed her off and woke her up to the left leaning propaganda machine the media has become, something I had been saying for a long time but she needed to figure it out for herself.

Is the question about one sided media coverage OR how a women's brain works?

I would try to tackle one of those but won't touch the other with a 10' pole. I will leave it to you to decide which is which😁 Good Luck!

Please do, the more the better. To many damned dogs, cats, and most of all, fucking people in this world. At least the dogs and cats will make a good food source for the homeless f*cks before we exterminate them as well. Next will be the old f*cks, oh wait, never mind. 🤔 🥴

We don't watch much news and we differ on opinions...she definitely leans left on some of issues and I understand her points. I sometimes will quickly try and shoot an opinion down or win an argument and sometimes I don't think I am fully objective. I have come to realize I liked her for the good qualities and those are still there regardless if we are not 100% in agreement. I tend to find myself more in the middle and not in alignment with far right or far left views. I tend to believe most people fall near the center and agree on most things; everyone wants good education, everyone wants good healthcare, everyone wants to avoid wasteful spending, everyone wants the treat the planet well and have fish in the ocean and lakes... it seems the minority or those out furthest on the spectrum have the loudest voices that tend to spur controversy on topics that cause the majorities in the middle to entrench....if we could get along in the aisles of congress and the senate like we do in our households when we disagree....we could be a lot of better off and not allow the minority voices out on the edges to pull us apart...

My wife and I are polar opposite’s on many issues. Some we get 100%. But damn. Watching the local news And how it is programmed to one sided Bullshit. We find ourselves arguing every night if the news on. Yep. Turn the fucking news off and read up on your own. Then If you still feel that way we have things to work through. Love her to death. No plans of leaving. But fuck. How do their brains work sometimes 🙄

Move if necessary obviously

Well let see! ....
If you're 7 years and younger in your marriage? ... That little thing has probably got the itch! ... for some bigger things!
More than 7? ... Control! And if you can't be on the same side when watching the news! 🤔 Even Viagra won't help!

Crazy how people think.
Kinda crazy when you think about it that humans are killing other humans all day, every day, all over the world.
So we shouldn't kill babies, OK, then at what age do they suddenly loose all value ?
On the other hand, I think eagles are seriously cool and not once have I ever wanted to kill one.
I can't say the same about people.
