Fellas..... it seems like many of you on the river and other places start boating less and less as Sept turns to Oct, etc.... is it weather cooling or what exactly?

If the kids are still out of school because of the Covid I suspect we'll see increased boating at the river.

Probably the same for Glamis especially if Gecko remains closed

Throw on a beanie cap and a light jacket and away we go. Our grandson didn't like wearing his beanie so he took it off and tossed overboard.

It takes a cold snap or two to get the water temperature below 80. That's what slows me down.

Our new one is done this month, you can bet we will be doing some late season boating. My 10yo is doing distance learning (their in class option was a joke...). We're packing up and heading to Havasu Nov 1st for 3 weeks. The only good part of all this school fiasco is spending more time with my mom, wife and family at the lake.

I thought we were about done for the season, then my wife told me we are going to Havasu next week. Is mid-week still busy?

There is no reason to go to the river once summer is over. The weather is awful and the water is freezing cold.

Best to just stick to off roading. That's what all the cool kids do anyway.

Lock up the boat and give the house keys to the property manager for Oct - Apr snowbird renters. Need to pay for that summer boating somehow...

Looks like our season has been extended. Our last trip is usually over Labor Day Weekend. We added 3 more weekends to the calendar well into October. Haters gonna hate 😉

The next 6Ish weeks are the best in Havasu IMO. My favorite trip is to the Springs on Sunday to watch some football. (May have to sit next week out though. Dinged a prop Saturday. Hoping for a miracle turnaround but not holding my breath).

Good stuff fellas.... not being a river rat I posted this thread in an attempt to understand why things seem to die off so drastically our there in Sept/ Oct.... I look at boat sales and have heard most folks take theirs off market in winters due to lack of interest and demand. And yet your comments indicate you're still percolating and will be continuing to boat in AZ.

All comments and feedback welcomed gents.....

yup, as others mentioned... this is the part of the year we enjoy the most.

Trying to salvage a lake powell trip that we missed in June, then rescheduled for Oct, now a couple hiccups are making me think to just write it off till next June.

Typically we enjoy the lake year round. When January comes I start to coordinate a checklist of things to be done for boat service and maintenance all to be done before spring.
