I’ve always been worried about wildlife in general biking Whiting Ranch. I’m fucking terrified of mountain lions which is why I always carry a knife on me. A 9mill won’t do shit when a lion has you by the neck

I always saw the signs and news story's but never saw one there. Worst I have encountered on trails are huge spiders and rattle snakes.

I always worry about mountain lions. I ride with ear pods in so it will be a big surprise if anything goes down. A few months ago I peddled into a herd of cows then realized a Brahma bull was eyeballing me, with nowhere to hide. I just peddled on but I must have looked back 42 times

Accidentally got between a momma moose and her babies while backpacking in alaska once . . . talk about covering land !
I looked back and she was about 150 yards behind us on the trail . . . we took off in a light jog . . . looked back again and she was maybe 25 yards and closing fast !!!!
We ran downhill as fast as we could . . . my buddy got past the point of no return and tried to slow down . . . he high-sided himself, did a complete flip mid-air . . . landed on his backpack which had a big metal gold pan strapped to it . . . he slid on that thing like it was one of those 'snow discs' that kids ride in the snow !!!! We laughed our asses off, . . . it bent the disc to shit so he has it hung up in his garage and wrote on it 'Moose Chase' with the date and trail !
