This is a friends boat and is for sale now. Its a really quick little boat. He has owned it since new and it has been kept inside all of its life.

When I was working at Howard in the early 90s the 20 GN mold still there. This was at the shop in Irwindale. Gene wanted nothing to do with Howard's past and he hated V-drives and hated it even more when we built one.

Anyway, the 20 spectra/Howard deck on the GN bottom was not a 'cut down' deck, you can't put a bull-nosed deck on a pointed nose hull. There was a mold dedicated for that set up. Good looking boat.

Thanks for the info Old Rigger.

The guy who owns the boat I posted sent me an email that he lowered the price on his boat to $12.5k or OBO. Said he needs it gone...

I've always liked these boats. A lot of them had really heavy marathon bottoms in them. There used to be a yellow one with a small TT motor in it up at Arrowhead.

LOVE THOSE OLD ARROWHEAD BOATS. Was just up their! fun times!
If you browse around this page on Boost Power's website, you will see many of the old Arrowhead ski boats. Including a few 20s.:thumbsup

There are many pages of pics. Check the old Hallett on page 2

That A-12 20' Schiada now has a NA Brummett engine. It sold a while back on Boat Trader. It is still a very clean boat. I think that is Bill Johnson's old boat from the 80's. One of the first Race Aero turbo set-ups at Arrowhead.

Hey guys. That yellow one you talk about was I think owned by Shane my dads friend. Ron Luther had a yellow and red one my dad drove a lot on arrowhead and we had that one as well, it also burned. My dad was the head rigger for Howard brown in the late 80s. He built 6 of these boats roughly. We had one, it burned with our home in 2003 in lake arrowhead. I'm reaching out to find one of these boats in the pictures. It would be a dream come true to find one even in bad condition. Please help me spread the word that I'm looking for one. image.jpg this is my dads boat rolling out of Howard's shop in 87 that burned.

My shop did most of the custom motor rail rigging for Howard from 1981 until he sold out to Gene . I remember John was the in shop rigger, and he did a great job, but there were not enough machines and space to do custom rigging in that little shop .

At the time Gene moved the shop to Irwindale, we were rigging one whaler, blown V-drive, open bow Turbo V-drive, a 21' jet, and a 24' V-drive that ended up being turbo .

I remember Gene 'clipping me' on the hatch door for the 24', it had been paid for, but not built .

John was a great guy, and did a tremendous amount of work, all on his own in that little shop space .

That is a good looking boat, who has the molds now ?

I've been told (not by Rush but by others) Rush started with this hull (or at least the bottom) when he built his GN mold. He may have added two strakes to the bottom, I think the Howard GN has four strakes and the Rush has six (?).

Old ad Jerry posted...
v-drive_ads_051.jpg

Hey guys. cool piece of information to conferm the info about the 6 stakes vs the 4 strakes. My dad was the last guy to touch this mold making two boats out of it. Howard filled in 2 strakes on the mold with resin, my dad recalls when he made the last two boats. Only one exists now its a white bottom with different shades of blue and grey.

It could have been orange. Maybe the orange was a little bit lighter? Idk it's been so long. I remember it and the blue one that the ski school had.

After thought - looking at your photo of your dad's boat that wasn't the one I remember. This one was yellow-ish with a orange trim. No engine cover with a turbo in it.

I saw this one on Instagram it was posted a couple years ago but they might have a lead on it:

Here is another one from a couple years ago seller might know where it went:

I just found these old pictures of my first boat. I purchased it from a guy in Huntington Beach. The boat was metal flake green and silver with astroturf for the carpet. Painted it in my garage after going to the LA boat show and taking pics of all the new boats in the 90s. We had a lot of fun when the kids were babies. I wonder if its still around or rotting in a fieldd somewhere. Howard 7.jpg Howard 8.jpg Howard 9.jpg Howard 10.jpg Howard 11.jpg

I picked this one up to do a full Resto on the wood deck.... just before my B boat became available. This one needs to go down the road to the right home. Call me if you're interested.
