HP vs speed 24 Spectra XS

Anybody have a good guess on the HP needed to get a v-drive 24 XS Spectra to go 70 mph? Thanks Trent

I'm curious myself. I'm guessing somewhere at least 700hp depending on the setup.

I would say 700 is in the ballpark. Some good family friends built up the last two 24XS made with 1100 hp V drives back in the early 80's. The motor's are both pretty tired now and have had some timing taken out of them to allow for not running high octane fuel, they will still put 77-78 behind them based on fuel, people on board etc. The original owners claim when the motors were fresh and everything was on the table they would do 85ish.
