That had to be a bit ago. Valley Crest no longer exists. It’s now part of a bigger conglomerate. Cool picture.
It was 2009. The guy is Randy Wolf. He only played for them the one year. We were all excited because pitchers are usually good golfers. He just started playing golf and was horrible. He would have been better if he just threw the ball around. Great guy though.
In the pic, I timed my hop perfectly. He’s 6’ and I’m not close. 😂

Funny you say that about baseball players and golfing. Most everyone I’ve played with that played baseball is a scratch golfer, they’re great. There’s a lot of mechanical skill sets that relate to both sports.

Emerald Canyon yesterday shot an 88 with 3 blow up holes. That course is always a blast.

Calabasas Country Club tomorrow and Talega Golf Club on Wednesday for work events. Never played either course but should be a good time and beats being in the office.

Going to Vegas in April for motley crew, what's a hacker friendly course there that won't break the bank but is nice?

Angel Park was reasonable and not too tough last time i played it. Pauite sounds great from everyone I’ve talked to.

Played Vista Valley Country Club yesterday in Vista. Very narrow and non forgiving. Getting used to my new fitted set of Callaways and way more difficult then I thought to make adjustment. I have added 10-15 strokes while figuring these out. Very frustrating. Makes aiming juice that much more needed.

Last Friday morning. Tahquitz Creek, The Resort Course. Lots of courses are overseeding this time of year as the heat has ended. So it was a bit hard to get times. This place is open, decently priced and in great shape. Close to the condo too. Greens a bit shaggy so had a handful of puts that were on line and four inches short.

Cold mornings, perfect daytime weather. Cools off at night now. It was Pride Weekend, so the male interior decorator crowd was on high alert. LOL, we didn't go out just ordered food in so only saw the hilarity on the road out of town. Made me think of River Royal.

Whole new meaning of a hole in one on Pride weekend.

Played Eldo today, had an albatross on the 18th, 215 yards 2 shot in the cup, shot a 36 on back with a triple on 17th par 3, while collecting 10 skins for the day. Game is finally starting to come around, glad I didn't give up.

Wow, congrats. A 2 on a Par 5 is more rare than a hole in 1. You'll never forget that!!

That's a great course. Someone we met at Laughlin Ranch stated Goose Creek was good but the reviews weren't so hot.
Goose Creek is a solid choice in the area if you appreciate pace of play. Last round at Oak Quarry was 5.5 hours, haven't been back since. Goose is typically a 4-4:15 round on the weekends. Goose is in good shape but not as scenic as OQ.

Playing Rams Hill Friday. Anyone play it since they laid all new turf on the fairways this summer?

I was invited to a course up in Vista/fallbrook area. Valle Vista Country Club. I think now called The Havens. Hard course first time out. Lots of narrow areas, blind drives, canyon bottom, creeks, water, trees. I struggled. The fairways were mowed short. Some shots would land fine but roll a long way.

Sometimes the wrong way....into the trees or water. One time a shot rolled back about 30 yards and off the fairway. Boo

This is a course you need to play a few times to figure out. Greens were amazing but so fast. Had two great shots. 18 is a 530 yard par five. My third was a 216 yard three wood, to 6 feet from the pin. I liked that one! Another was a water crossing, from 112 out, almost jarred it. Bounced off the stick to about 7 feet.

Lots of other shots I would prefer to forget. LOL! Highest scoring round in years. 😞 But I would go back tomorrow! LOL

Used to be vista valley country club.

Yes they have a lot of tee shots with weird angles to the fairway it plays up a canyon so it makes it difficult to read the greens the 1st couple of rounds. Fun course if you leave the driver in the bag most of the day.

Got the sim set up in the house, not going to lie it was pretty sweet waking up this morning and getting a quick 50 yard practice session in before work.
That’s truly badass. Would love to do one someday. How accurate is it?

I may be able to sneak this in to the budget.

Thanks! I haven't put to much time in yet but so far it seems very accurate. Im hitting off a very good mat so you can lose distance pretty easily with a fat shot. I'm still dialing the build so not much driver but irons are accurate. This morning was bad ass. Woke up, stretched out, set it at a 50.yard shot and hit 40 ish shots then went to work.

A couple really cool things that I am excited to try out, you can play other people online, my Cousin and really good friend just bought their sims as well so we can have some online tournaments from our houses. I also have GS Pro, its a 3rd party software that has over 1000 courses including most of the dream courses we all want to play, from what I am reading, a lot of the courses are created with Lidar from the real courses so they should be pretty accurate,

Played Spyglass last year with my old boss. It was his first time out there so I figured he’d be a little lost. He knew how much he could cut the corner on one, where to layup on 2, where to play 4 from. He told me that he’s been playing it on his Sim. SOB. What a cheat code.

Looked at a few of them, I didn't realize how expensive they can be.

Ya they can get insane, but pricing have gone down a ton with new products coming out. I did the uneekor eye mini lite, you get it on sale right now for $1800 for just the unit.

I played via Victoria country club in riverside last week . Great mature course w super fast greens . Not incredibly tough but the greens are in my opinion pretty tough View attachment 1454520
I live up the hill from there. Cool course. Way too many trees lol
Victoria CC across town is a shit course. Private and expensive for no reason. No good courses in Riverside. General Olds is a shit course also
I always have to hit the low desert to play or hit Tukwet. That track is always on point year round

Played it years ago. Wasn’t bad at all. Some cool holes with some local knowledge needed. I remember some nice houses at the far end of the course.

Is Fairmount golf course still open in riverside? My best buddy was the super there and another friend owned it for a while back in the day.

I'm still getting things dialed in but getting used to swinging indoors. I was pretty nervous since I've been nursing a wrist injury for a while now, but this mat was well worth the money, so far almost no pain and I'm getting to swing again. With the hard winter ground outside last time I went it wasn't great.

I'm playing with all the features, but I just did a 60 shot challenge, it bounces around distances from 60 yards up to your driver. It really paints a picture of your strength and weaknesses. Apparently I need to work on 60 yards shots lol.

Honestly one of the hard things is holding off trying to kill it at the range. It's hard when you see the numbers lol. Im still taking it easy to prevent injury but I pushed it a bit on a couple. Hoping with continuing improvement and practice ill keep bumping the numbers and accuracy up.

Played tukwet canyon last Sunday. It was pretty cool to see the the work on the sim translate to the course. By far the best I've been from 100 in. If I was anywhere from 50 to 100 it was automatic with in 15 feet. Shout 82 but putting was not great, not that I was putting terrible, the greens were like cement and hard placements.

I'm roughly 3 weeks in with the sim. So far I feel like it's some of the best money I've spent on anything. Maybe I get tired of it, who knows. But as of now, I'm rarely just sitting on the couch. Might as well get some swings in and watch TV in the background. My kids love it and play most days and even my wife is playing on the weekends.

Still dialing in the room but things are coming together.

Thanks man.

I finally got the stones up yesterday to cut my hitting mat. It's a 10' mat with a hitting strip on it. They jig saw together but I needed to offset mine to the right so I won't hit the left with the swing. The mat is dam expensive so I had to build up to cutting it lol. But it looks way better that way. For now on the left where the clubs are sitting is the cut off from the mat. I'm most likely going to dowel it into the left side mat so it's all one piece. That and try and find some matching grass from the landing area to run on the left side so it looks finished. And build some club holders in the wall.
