Interstate 10 between Palm Springs and Beaumont is scheduled to drop down to one lane in each direction during weeknights next week as part of the ongoing I-10 Pavement Rehabilitation Project.
The road work, also called the I-10 Tune-Up, is entering its sixth month, and crews have been gradually making improvements to nearly 20 miles of roadway, starting at state Route 111 north of Palm Springs and Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont.
Work is scheduled to begin again Sunday, Aug. 9, and continue into the morning of Friday, Aug. 14. Crews are set to close between two and three lanes in both directions on the eight-lane artery at staggered intervals to demolish sections of roadway and improve others between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. daily. Two lanes in each direction will be open until 11 p.m., then reduced to one lane overnight.
