I 40 east

Went est on I 40 yesterday had a 60 mph from just past ludlow to mile marker 121 that means 71 miles and no end ??????

no end of construction of signs and 70 mph signs covered so basicialy no break in speed limit as befor const started and stoped where work was happening each day just seems easy for them to drop speed limit for 71 miles all at once

No I drive that way at least 2 times a week someone took the end of const signs down all 3 of them

I drive it every two weeks, guess i'll see the extent tomorrow afternoon. So that's about another 40 miles of 60 mph?

I keep the cruise at 80 every week as I drive through unless there are workers or work vehicles on or near the road......

Well, that wasn’t really my intent, but...

Crazy I drove it a few times in the last few weeks and the first time it was about 25 miles of 60mph construction crap with about 2 miles of actual people working and the rest open space with no one in sight then a week ago it ended up being extended another WHO KNOWS HOW LONG, I think it was over 50/60 miles but this time I saw 2 areas of activity in that whole drive.......I think I was the only one driving 70, everyone else was blasting by me the entire way even when we saw a few CHPs hanging out people slowed down to about 65 and then a mile down the road opened up again...

I drive the stretch a few times a month And did last night. I noticed there was no sign indicating “end of construction”. Honestly people are still doing 75-80mph on that stretch day and night. Everyone slows down when they see the radar speed detector but once past it and the sight of wide open road then everyone speeds back up. If there was any road work going on close to traffic I think people would slow down but they are working in the divided highway portion pretty far from the traffic lanes. I also think CHP is looking the other way on this one. I see people doing normal speed through there all the time and no one is ever pulled over.

So you indicate that if "workers" are actually working and/or if they are close enough to be endangered.
Does the latter apply when they are working in the center median area everyone is talking about?
I've not taken the 40 in years but just curious for the knowledge.

Thanks, I've been rolling through the whole damned thing at 65 at 1am with people blowing by me thinking, "this is BS". Wouldn't mind meeting you, but don't really want to do it on the side of the 40. So, what about when they are working but they're only in 1 spot and you're 30 miles away?
