So I built this K5 blazer 28 years ago in my moms driveway. Did everything on it. Even painted it in the driveway. I traded it away 16 years ago when I started my business for some equipment. I get a call from my buddy saying he needs to move and I have first crack at it. So we go up to where it has been stored for the last 15 years inside. Major flashbacks. The only thing he changed was the rims and tires. Amazing shape for sitting for so long. Did the deal and pushed it outside on the square tires and had it towed back to my shop. Cleaned the carb and added some gas and it fires right up. At least i don’t have to push it. Put some new tires and drive it. Pretty stoked as I wanted another blazer and to have my old one back is even better. And yes that is a old B&M blower on a big block.

Congrats. Would love to have my GMC Jimmy back. Did pretty much the same in the driveway way back when.

I am keeping the big block for now. But I do have a Holley efi throttle body slated for it. But if the big block dies, a ls would be the replacement. Even have a Magnacharger laying around for one to keep it historically correct. :D

I know exactly how it is. It is going to wait a little bit. It came as a surprise but I wasn’t going to say no.

You are crazy lucky. Most of us have that one vehicle that we wish we never sold. You had the phone call, AND money to do it. I have 2, but i KNOW i'm never going to get the call!!!!

So I made some progress on this thing. I want to drive it before summer is over. A buddy made a call to Mickey Thompson and we got some new wheels and tires for a deal. 40x13.5x17. And they actually measure out at 40”. Had one of the grunts clean it up some. Today I installed a new hydroboost and master cylinder and got the brakes working better. Did an oil change. Installed a new head unit because I was curious what the sound system would do after sitting for so long. Wholly shit. This still sounds amazing considering the stuff was installed in the early 90’s. Old school Hifonics amps still crank out the tunes. Now to get it registered and I think it will be good to go for a little while.

Yes it screams 90’s. One day repaint the whole thing black and put stock bumpers back on it.

I'm just jealous yours is up and running! :D Perfect choice in rims too. I'm glad you did something that suits that year truck. Not like the knuckleheads today running 24" deep dish rims with 50 series tires.

I'd load up some pics, but I've got nothing but a bare frame and a dent-free tub. :D Hand-off to you Bones! :D
