My wife has been limping along with a 6 YO iPhone and the battery is starting to shit the bed. I am no tech guru but have pressured her to upgrade with an new unlocked Iphone. We are both indoctrinated in Apple so the focus is on iPhones and we are both over 50 YO so switching to something else is not in the picture.

My work phone is an iPhone 11 and it has a great camera compared to her iPhone 6 and has been an easy transition for me from an iPhone 7. The 12 seems to have a much better camera?

I want her to future proof with an iPhone 12 Pro Max...she is a she and takes a lot of pictures, spends a lot of time on social media and with the much better camera will need expanded storage capacity.
Anyone have an iPhone 12 Pro-Max and or experience between that and a 12 Pro?

Money isnt the driving factor here, just want to spend it wisely.

The Max phones are the way to go simply due to the size; I used to have a six and then went to an 8 Plus and really don't know how I functioned with a 6 (I'm 54-years old).

We recently went down this road. I refused to buy the 11 ProMax when it was the flagship phone due to the $1300 price tag, but then the 12 came out, and in November we got her the 11 ProMax for $600 after the trade-in of her 4-year old 7 Plus.

She takes a lot of pics, uses Facebook and that's about it. Night and day difference? No, the battery life is the only thing she said is better. As a dude I know the storage is also better, but that's somewhat irrelevant with the iCoud. The phone has killer volume and bass compared to my 8.

Here are two photos taken 10 seconds apart taken at night. First one is my iPhone10 and the second one is my iPhone12 Pro. No filters, just point and click.

i went from the 6plus to the 12 max and what a difference, missed having the thumb to turn it on for about a week, now its amazing, only issue i have is because of the wide angle lens i do get a finger in the edge of the pic from time to time

My wife has the pro and loves it. Her old phone was in the Max category and she prefers the standard sized phone because it fits better in her hand and in the sorry excuses for pockets in her jeans.

I have a 12 pro. Wife has pro Max. Pro either has a much better camera in low light than 12 reg. Especially in low light. I didn’t want the max simply because I don’t have that pocket real estate. The wife loves the max after having the 11 pro. Also got her the larger size watch. It all comes down to what do you want to fit in your pocket? She also uses one of those “pop socket” holder things on the back.

We’ve had iPhones from the 6 through the 11.
All turn off the volume for no reason. Friends with the same issue.
Does the 12 still have this mulligan?

Same here! That's why we upgraded wifeys phone; we thought a new phone would fix it. Then again, maybe that's part of the plan?
