Smart phones is the cancer. Folks forgot how to have face-2-face conversationsmusk is hella smart, he knows the company is losing 4 mil a day and those funding the loses are not going to fund it while he owns, loving nothing more than to drop the 50 billion in debt on his head.......i applaud the cost cutting/ free speech restoration, but i will never use it.......social media is the new cancer
That’s so funnyWhat a shame. Tweeter might go away before I figure out what the hell it is.
SoThe pledge is also a mandate to work 80 hours a week. Might be a labor law or two that violates.
I hadn't considered California laws, so yesterday I did a little research (it was frigid cold and snowy so I had some time).Agree on exempt with the caveat that California Labor Laws do not mirror federal labor laws and are as one would imagine much more cumbersome reducing the number falling into the exempt category. There are already over three dozen labor lawsuits filed in California court since the change in ownership many seeking class status.
In either event, twitter does not need as many employees when the revenue drops from 5 billion in 2021 to a new reported run rate of less than 2 billion. So naturally headcount reductions are appropriate given the dramatic reduction in business levels as well as the increase in interest expense of over 1 billion per year for the buyout debt.
My experience in hourly work drilling in CA is that, as you state, over 8 is 1.5, then everything after 40 in a week.I hadn't considered California laws, so yesterday I did a little research (it was frigid cold and snowy so I had some time).
No where did I find any limits on hours worked. As with Federal law, most everything to do with hours worked has to do with OT for non-exempt employees. The big difference between the two I can find is that Cali require OT after 8 hours worked and 40 hours, where Federal only has OT kick in after 40.
So, again, as long as Twitter pays per the laws people can be expected to work as many hours as needed. Salaried exempt? Twitter owns you.
AFA lawsuits,.maybe workers are going to claim they are misclassified as exempt. Which evidently wasn't an issue when they only worked 30 hours a week. Seems that might be hard to prove, but WTFDIK...

In AZ if you work 4 10’s and you’ll have 40 Reg and zero OT, but in CA you’ll have 32 regular, 8 OT.
After 12 you get a second 30 minute lunch by state law, but you can waive that if you want. Over 12 is double time.
I’m sure there are contractual waivers and of course the standard AG and Oilfield exemptions, but that’s the basics as I recall.
Fair to state that all dev resources at twitter are going to be salary employees.
OT would not apply
If only WW3 could me a meme war…. I def think the Russian troll farms would win….at least a meme war everyone could get a good laugh at…The meme wars are going to the next level........................
Did you notice 530 hasn't responded to my posts that blow up his completely false claim that Musk has mandated 80 hour weeks for all?I hadn't considered California laws, so yesterday I did a little research (it was frigid cold and snowy so I had some time).

This is the true conservative way.Of course not. But if Musk were an outspoken, flaming liberal, he would be singing his praises and telling everyone how great Musk is.
As you point out it was 7 days a week 12 hours a day and that is 84 hours. The link to the demand for 80 hours was as you said, "completely false".Did you notice 530 hasn't responded to my posts that blow up his completely false claim that Musk has mandated 80 hour weeks for all?

These advertisers have accounted for nearly $2 billion in spending on the platform since 2020, and over $750 million in advertising in 2022 alone.
