RDP contractors...how would you approach this project?
Remove existing electric (not gas) clothes dryer on left and existing washer on right. Seeking to put stackable combo or front loaders stacked and add a pantry. My main concern is the dryer ductwork. Please share your suggestions. Thank you in advance. House is in BHC.

Remove uppers, washer and dryer.

Remove the drywall that’s behind the current units. Reroute electrical, plumbing, ducting etc.

New drywall, texture and paint. Install new cabinets and install the new units [emoji1303]

I have a pantry on each side of my washer and dryer. But not stackable. I ran the dryer vent under the cabinet behind the toe kick.

With stackable I would of boxed in the vent going through pantry on back of a shelf and exited out the side wall. With one pantry I would put pantry on inside wall and stackable on exterior wall and run vent out.

Ran out of room with our remodel and had to stack to get room for the sink. Turns out it was one of the best changes that we had to make. So much that we are doing it again in our Havasu house to make a 3rd bathroom out of the laundry room and 3 feet of the garage.

As Nic noted pull the cabinet and drywall. Relocate the wiring and vent duct. Should be easy. I’d focus on the vent because that is the weak link and can be a pain in the ass for the life of your existence. I’d also think about building an enclosure for the units. It really cleans things up a lot. A sheet of oak plywood, trim and stain will take it up a notch.

This looks really nice, where do you keep your soap and bleach (stuff ) in the vanity? I’m a lazy ass and it would always end up on the counter.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, we have the soap and items in the cabinets. The cabinets are wall cabinets that I resized and put them next to the vanity. I ran out of width and had to reconfigure. The enclosure was stock Home Depot plywood and molding that I stained to match the cabinets and color of the wood. Shocked that I made it work honestly. I did have to use 4 different color stains and clear coat to get the red hue of the wood grain and then darken it up with brown. I think that I bought about 8 colors to mix and match in layer to get the color close. People ar shocked when I tell them the story.

Do the dryer ducting the right way or you will regret it. Use only solid pipe and elbows. I dont use the aluminum stuff from the dryer venting area at big box stores. Get the galvinized piped and elbows. It it heavier duty. The 90° elbows can be aligned to about any angle.

Each elbow is a 5' pipe equivalent. Look at dryer venting instructions for your dryer. Keep it below 25' including elbows.

If you have a difficult run include easy ways to clean it or to replace

Solid pipes is a great idea. I am going with that the next time

Looks nice, my wife wouldn't be happy about reaching for those controls on the top unit.

I hear you. My wife is 5’3” does not complain one bit. She would rather have the counter space than anything. Personally I don’t like loading the lower unit if anything. Bending over putting in and taking out of a front load on the floor affects my back a little.

test driving now. All good, this thing is way smarter this guy, I hope I never have to move it again:p we went with this unit because two separate units put the controls really high. No way the vertically challenged family could see the controls! Only wish it was offered in SS.

I recently went from a similar setup as your to this and haven't had any issues. The dryer duct drop pretty steep but seems to be no worse than the original setup.
