I recently went over and visited Andrew Price at Interceptor Custom Boats in Lake Havasu and as with all shop tours I’m gonna take rdp along for the ride!
This will take sometime to put it all up as there’s a lot of pics..

First and foremost the building is absolutely bad ass.. One of the nicest ones I have been in. I have never been in a Mfg building that had three kitchen ovens in it? Let alone bathrooms and showers that are fit for a new built house?

Wanna know how to own a million dollar boat company? Start with a billion dollars. I’m guessing there is no way they sell enough of those boats to afford and justify that building.

Service and repairs is where they will make the money. Just like car dealerships for the most part.

True, but a car dealership is selling prob 50-100 cars a month. Also, they are mostly being compensated by the manufacturer for warranty and repair work. And, the staffing required and level of craftsmanship in the workforce out there won’t support it.

Actually the owner is throwing some serious money at this company with Andrew in charge in Havasu.
Simply as an fyi.... I worked at AkzoNobel Coatings and we'd incentivise heavy coatings users with a "free" paint booth in exchange for a 5 yr contract. Most of the big boy oems do so. Great looking shop.... new is nice.... had me thinking; I've got a buddy with a machining shop doing aluminum aircraft parts etc..... he set the
building up in a way that he could move into it comfortably if his wife divorced him,.... showers, couches, big screen in office, etc.... He left out the kitchen, I'll have to remind him to add that, lol.

The drama was with the old old GM. He did some shady shit and had all the lawsuits against him. The owner (out of Utah) hired a new GM (he left to do something else and is now at Ultra). Andrew was the GM @ Ultra and moved to ICB to run the Havasu location.

Im sure they are in the shop. The shop looks top notch.
I wouldn't think somebody would build out a boat dealer office with a convection oven stack and red oak surround lol. But smoke 'em if ya got em!

That is true but there not the only game in town when it comes to service and repairs. Many owners are loyal to the brand and typically that's where they go for service in many cases. It takes years to grow the service and repairs part of the business to keep the business afloat when sales taper off, so how will they attract the non brand owner for their services?

However in my case I use to take my boat to Hallett for service and I never owned one, great boats btw. I simply went there because of their track record and Jim Frisbee.

The shop looks nice I wish them the best...

They can make money, if gel repairs are solid. Only a few shops doing A+ gel repairs and Nordic is so busy building new, they don’t take on a ton of gel repairs anymore. Annual service will be hard to build, but general repairs especially around gel could make them money during the down time.
I was impressed with Andrew when he was GM @ Ultra. Kept me up to date during the transom cap warranty item and the other gel repairs I had done. If he continues that level of service, he will win my work. Hardest part will be hiring staff in Havasu (seems to be an issue).

Maybe they like to fix stuff. PVC and AZ hear don’t mix well under pressure

I could be wrong but it looks like a version of “rapid air”. Looking at that compressing band I don’t think it’s your standard Home Depot pvc.

I can't see if the PEX pipe has a rating for compressed air, the potable water PEX shouldn't be used for compressed air, it weakens the structure. There's a specific type suitable to with stand high pressure lines and element exposure e.g. sunlight.

Common Man  Dude, Bro Guy lol there are people out there that make a ton of money that invest in other entities that won't show a profit over the course of years to offset or avoid paying capital gains on other investments.
I would bet that Interceptor Boats is not a main source of income for the principals involved.

Bitchen shop by the way 👍

It boggles my mind that Dave even bothers to put any kind of shop tour or positivity about the boating world in the Lounge anymore.🙁

Maybe all the critics should worry about running their own businesses and let this gentlemen run his own business as he sees fit.🙄

No shit! That’s obvious by the building purchase/lease. We’ve seen this show how many times? So standing by watching.….The “Help Wanted” sign outside of Conquest Boats might be an indicator. What are they not doing that these guys are? Just sayin, there’s more to it.
