So we just purchased a home in Tempe. The immediate use will be for our son and his roommates as he/they attend(s) ASU and then when our kids are done with college, we will decide whether or not to sell the house and purchase in Flagstaff, Parker or Havasu. The kids are all extremely respectful and raised well with good values, morals and ethics (not your typical everyone gets a trophy California kids). The neighbors were all extremely polite and came over to introduce themselves to us. The neighbor to the right is a widow who raised 3 boys and a daughter so we had a lot in common and won't be bothered with college kids next door. The kids met her and let her know that anytime she needs help with anything, they're on it. The neighbors to the left are elderly as well and have lived there for 50 years. They can't hear a thing so no worries there. The daughter and son in law were over and introduced themselves and they were both great as well. He's a History prof at ASU and he teased with the kids. Cool dude. The neighbor directly across in the cul de sac came over and asked about who is occupying the house. Told him about the kids and then he asked where we are from...LOL. This is where the conversations always went south with a few exceptions. We told him San Diego. He said Texas right? No, California. With that, he said nothing more, turn on his heel and walked away. Wife and I both gave each other a puzzled look and started cracking up. He glanced back and I offered "we bleed red, not blue if that helps", he smiled and kept walking. Great weekend none the less. Had dinner down at Culinary Dropout which was fun and some big Monsoon storms that gave us a great show. Safe to say, I love AZ.
